Ok I finally bought my dream car a 98 GS Eclipse Spyder..... I Want to make it a VIP car..... But at the same time still be able to get up and go.... Im looking for a complete engine swap..... Money isnt an issue.... I want at least 360 hp.... Any recomendations???

dAts only 240hp.... I want more.... If i do that ### else should be done???

Well thats the only other engine that fits easily.

You buy the 4g63t with ecu/wiring harness and then start from there. The stock engine will handle 360hp reliably depending on the condition of the engine. Anything above that and I would replace the rod bolts and headgasket/headbolts.

Yeah I guess... What is the difference between the GS-T and the GSX motors??? Ive lifted the hood of a GST I know that engine but Ive never seen a GSX I know its 4 wheel drive but thats all.....

Nothing, same motor. You can use either. There is no differance.

Do U think the twin turbos from the eagle talon fit in my car if I put the 4g63 motor in???

Your confused, the eagle talon is exactly the same as the eclipse.

3000gt's came with twin turbo v6s, but those motors have less potential than the 4g63 with a single turbo. Those motors do not bolt in. You might as well put a viper motor in if you were going to try that haha or a turbine from a helicopter.

HMMMM Helicopter turbine sounds good...... LOL!!! Yeah yah I know.... But I swear Ive seen a twin turbo talon....

First Congrats on obtaining your Cream car! :hellyeah:

Me recomendation is to read the Tech section here. Its the 1st option on the menu bar.
Then crawl into the 420A forum, Grab a drink and start reading! Pick options like "body kits" or "engine swap" and use the Search, Its 5th from the left on the menu bar..

Give yourself about a week of reading and I promise you will have ALOT better understanding of your car and how to go about your goals.
Dont be a dork and just walk into a room and shout out "Hey I am new and want to make power"
You will be ignored or picked on... :ohdamn:

You need to first understand how to maintenance your "Dream" car, Then and only then start thinking of going fast or going for the looks.

Figure out a Goal, "I want to run 12's and get 27mpg highway, while looking good" Or "I want a spirited daily driver with looks that kill" Just remember "Speed costs money, How fast do you want to go?" and "Shiney is not fast without buckets of cash."
You will find its not hard to get where you want to go. Bro, Just dont expect a "manual" here at tuners.. Its up to you to make the ultimate decisions and how to go about them...

Reasearch and then come back with a clear cut goal, Then Ask questions. You will receive Alot more responses.

Sites like Vfaq Have 90% of your questions already answerd. Take a peek... :thumb:

People have put the 6 cyl twin turbo motor in dsms but its pointless and everybody loses. More weight in the front, more expensive parts, harder to work on, weaker, way to much time to do the swap, it pretty much has nothing going for it.

Because its easier for some people to swap motors than to swap a 4g63 head onto a 4g64 block. Not to mention, the stock gs tranny is weak so you should pull the tranny and swap in the turbo model tranny.

Depends on the skill of the individual, I just gave the easiest route because I dont know who I'm really talking to.

Well I know how to swap the heads.... I know that the 4g63 heads would go bolt right on to the 4g64 but would it be better just to swap..... or is the torquer 2.4 block better???

I want a VIP car but still want it to be able to get up and go.... Im honestly looking for about 360hp... Only cause the STI's out here are about that.... So I want to compete with them.... Mainly I want a sexy looking car that isnt only sexy from the outside but when I lift da hood there is something to look at..... And it has to have balls....

Oh and to go with the quote above I need torque because im adding some weight with the sound system and Interior asthetics....

He doesnt have a 420a. Its a 4g64 in the spyders.:thumb:

Other than that, I completely agree....

Put in the 4g63t from the turbo eclipses.
/thread.

That's where this thread should have ended and the searching should have begun. Welcome and all that jazz, but start doing some reading.

If you drop in a 4g63, 6 or 7 bolt it will take you where you want to go with a bigger turbo, supporting mods, and tuning. It's all really easy to find when using the search button. I'll give you some hints since I'm bored, freshened up junkyard 7 bolt, EVO 3 16g turbo, front mount IC, injectors, bigger fuel pump, and a tuning device like an AFC or DSMlink.

If it were me, I'd set the 64 aside and give it all the goodies and put it on when you are done with the 63. Enough never seems to be enough when it comes to power.

Heavy or not, you want power to go fast, especially in a FWD.
