Just picked up a 98 AWD Spyder with a 2.3 stroker, E85, w/NOS. guy said it was siezed so I pulled the exhaust, AWD gear, and oil pan. The oil pan had some metal chunks about the size of the head of a pin, a few drops of antifreeze, and the oil on the bottom of the pan had a jelly like appearance. I pulled off the girdles and main bearings expecting to find a spun bearing but did not. Center bearing that centers the crank was very worn on the side. The crank now turns fine ( like an idiot I didn't think to try to turn the crank before I pulled the bearings) Has king bearings 2KL 0.75 M524L AM . How far do I need to tare this thing down to make sure nothing else is going to go wrong? Pull head and cams then flush oil system? Any insight is appreciated. In over my head. Lol

Gee simple question, not so simple answer. Everyone has their favorites. Most all their favorites are all good. Figure out exactly what your goals will be, make a shopping list with the different choices, buy the Option which is the best deal at time of purchase that fits your goals. OEM is never bad, Felpro HG is pretty hard to bet as well as DSM composites, lots of folks use the Topline gasket rebuild sets. Some studs yes some no, need to be replace each use (stretch to yield are throw-away).

Edit: Almost forgot, Us DSM'er are lucky as well. We have several really good supporting vendors that have "hard to bet prices", aftermarket & OEM parts, that know these cars & all the parts & you should check them out.
