So for the last two days the car feels like it is going over bumps on the highway. Kind of feels like it bucks a bit, or u can also say that it feels like the car is bouncing. I really don't know what it could be. The cel is on and thecodes are for the speed sensor, knock sensor , map and emmisions. Would any of these cause that ? I think I am going to fix the knock next week and switch the plugs and wires. But what else could it be. Also it's a 6 bolt with prothane all around. Thanks guys

also what knock sensor would be better :
knock sensor from autozone duralast brand

Knock Sensor | 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 Cylinders F 2.0L MFI Turbo DOHC | AutoZone.com

or bwd from oreillys? BWD S8082 - Detonation (Knock) Sensor | O'Reilly Auto Parts

thinking the bwd since it has lifetime..

anyone know??

yeah every now and then the car turns off.. not on the highway though.. not when its jumpy.. kind of feels like it bucks. and it only happens on the highway. was wondering if this has happened to anyone else with an awd.

nope . dont think its wheel balancing. i can tell when its a warped rims or something like that

Ok, I had the same issue. The my CEL was on, I simply replaced the crankshaft position sensor.

Take it to a mechanic and see if the sensor is busted. My sensor was was disconnected and warped.
Let me know how your fix action goes. I'm curious to know :)

the only codes i have right now are, p1400 generator fr , and the other three are emissions related since it has a vaccuum delete.

can a transfer case going bad cause this? and if i want to replace it are the automatic 95-96 thwe same as the manual ones.

You said it happens on the highway so that's speeds of 55 to 65mph. Sounds like its in the tires. Have you check all of the side walls for bubbles? How about the condition of the tires good, bad, rotated regularly? It could be a broken belt in the tire at low speeds its not really noticeable but when you hit higher speeds it could bounce or hum like crazy. As for the axle i have only ever noticed a popping sound when making a turn. If none of this helps go into a little more detail like is the bucking coming from the front or back or is it the whole car?

The tires and rims are new. The transfer case is making a noise so I'm going to replace it. The whole car bucks . Just like it would if someone didn't know how to drive standard . and sorry to ask but what's a u joint?
