I was driving on the highway doing 80 or 90 when my car shut off. Not worrying too much about it, I turned my car back on thinking it might've been the battery again. Then I noticed that my temp gauge was at MAX, and suddenly white smoke started coming out of the engine bay and I was losing a lot of power. I started to pull over, but not before I heard some kind of scraping sound from the engine. After I pulled over, the engine was still giving off white smoke. There was no oil on the dipstick and the coolant tube in the reservoir and the cap had broke/melted off!
My car also left a trail of fluid on the ground as it pulled over.
I haven't worked on the car in a few years but I suspect it's the headgasket. What do you guys think? Hope there's no damage to the head/block
Thanks guys!
