Check out MPXH6300AC6T1 (3 bar) and MPXH6400AC6T1 (4 bar). These work and are tiny. So, maybe anything more is designed larger to look important or stand out as a mod?

edit agreed above, AEM stainless is what I would go to as well. I think 3 bar would be ideal for him, not 5. Resolution loss for no reason.

This GM sensor came with the Autometer boost gauge, so I left it connected, just for the gauge.
At this point, I’d settle for a “working” sensor for the gauge - it need not be to the same precision as what the ECU is using.

Maybe try that one? It talks about the cheap chinese made Delphi units coming apart on people, and that theirs apparently don't have that problem?

What worries me is the Omnipower sticker on the stock-photo they used. If it's just an omnipower 3 bar map sensor then that needs to be stated in the ad instead of it being called a GM sensor.


Edit: Also found this on eBay. Ad states Genuine GM made in USA so maybe this ones better?

The GM style sensors are just terrible quality now, drop the coin on an AEM stainless 5 bar map sensor and never have another issue.

Agreed. The GM sensors used to be the go-to and now they are just junk. I switched to AEM a few years back myself.

Thank you - really. I find keeping a clean setup makes diagnosing issues easier. As soon as I see grease, oil, dirt whatever collecting - finding and ending the issue saves me from catastrophic failures and general unhappiness.

I'm trying to build a version of the 2G Eclipse that Mitsubishi could have built as a factory prototype - An amalgamation of the best stock parts and minimalist modifications pushing out the specs of the original factory engine and chassis to achieve unexpected levels of performance.

Seems like everything I need to finish the head swap is in shipping. The biggest time suck will be replacing connectors on the wiring harness. The crimping, shrinking, and covering is something I like to take a bunch of time with so that I don't have to go back to it later. If it looks like it was done at the factory - then the smog guys just sort of glaze over and push it through.

When I’m packing for shipping now days, I assume there is a large animal throwing my box around in the truck and lobbing it over my yard gate. The only thing you could have done different is to pack the airspace with balls of paper or an expanding foam.

True. It’s like they took that box personally though. like “bet I can break this thing open easy”.

Never more glad I used an entire roll of duct tape and half a roll of heavy duty clear shipping tape.

It's the truth. I'm not kidding though when I say that the condition of the box pisses me off. It's not like it weighed 50 lbs, and it's not like it was some inconveniently packaged item. It was just done out of pure malice/pettiness.


I'm glad it got there, but seeing the paint job so beat up on the intake that I really did lovingly and painstakingly put on hurts my heart. There was a couple blems on the underside where you couldn't really see them due to clearancing, but the plenum was mint.

Just glad it wasn't lost and that I over-packaged/secured it.

hmm, not impressed with the AEM EV1 injector clips: They can wiggle off the RC injector. The wire diameter seems to be too big to securely hold the tabs on the injector.
