Intercooler re-tune?

No you should not need to retune with only changing your intercooler (as long as you did not have nor create any new vacuum leaks in the process).

A possibility, yes.
More so with speed density if the cooler, denser air charge at the same boost level requires more fuel.
A MAS setup won't be as picky as it will see the extra airflow and adjust fuel appropriately.

Need vs want are two different things, though ;) It's a good idea, especially if you want to get the most out of your investment.

I always thought SD would never know the differrence with intercooler size. I have my AIT after the intercooleer so my ECU just thinks it's getting air temp.

The way I see it, if it is better intercooler then you could run more timing, if it is worst then you will knock. A retune you can adjust this. Is it necessary no but you can make more power with a retune in terms of trying to run more timing with a better intercooler.

Why do you want a bigger intercooler? Just the "sweet look" of it will be all you're getting. Most agree that it hurts performance with a stock turbo. More lag time etc.

^ the OP needs to fill out his profile. I seriously doubt he has a t25 if he has a way to tune. That's the first thing to go.

Someone said protect your investment!!!! Rotfl. Holy crap I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Thanks. First time I ever heard of a DSM or even an intercooler being referred to as an investment.
