installing SBR MBC question

Yes, I know how to install it, but I have a question about installing it.

I'm going to use the hose that is already on the car (the stock hose). When I attempt to slide the hose over the brass fittings on the MBC it seems like the hose is just too small to go over the hose connections. It's as if the SBR MBC's hose fittings are just too big. If I really keep at it I can get the tiny little hose onto the big brass MBC fittings, but I'm not sure if this is the right way (the hose buldges out because the connector is so big) or if I need to get different hose. I can't imagine getting a bigger hose, since it is the stock hose that needs to connect to all the fittings in the car.

So, those who have the SBR MBC, did you just force the tiny hose to connect to the MBC, or did you do something else? It seems like it will work, but I thought I'd ask before messing anything up.

The hoses are so tight on my halman I would have to slit them with a razor to get them off. I see nothing wrong with that if you can get them far enough on. The whole idea is to keep them on real good. Slightly bigger hose will work on the stock manifold fittings though, just be sure to zip tie it.

Cool, thanks for the response! Looks like I'll just have to work at it to get the hose onto the MBC. I'll give it a go this weekend!

My dejontool MBC came with 3/16" vacuum hose that works perfectly. I would head out to whatever auto parts place and ask them if you can have a small piece or something to see if it would fit and if so buy enough feet to hook it all up. I assume the fittings are the same. Doing that and zip tying them down or clamping them down would be better than using the 14 year old stock hose that could easily crack, I think.

That's true about the old hose, it would be better to replace it. I was originally going to get that kit from RoadRace, but don't feel like spending $40 for hoses. I'll head over to Schucks and see if they have anything, if they don't maybe I'll try NAPA.

There are some hoses in a lumber store, not sure what exactly type it is, but I use it for my vacuum lines. They charge about 10 cents a foot, so go with that.

I ended up getting some hose at Schucks Auto Supply. Got myself more then enough and some zip ties to secure it. Everything installed easily and I replaced all the old hose with the new. The new hose I got was 7/32", it was all they had, but it fits pretty good. Once you zip tie it it stays snug. I think the total for the parts was 6 bucks for the hose and 2 bucks for these rubber screw caps that I got at Lowes to cap off the open spots on the intake and such. So 8 bucks, not bad. Car runs great and holds 15psi without problems (unlike before where it would gradually get up to 20psi!).
