installing new alternator tomorrow

I bought this by mistake, will a alt from a 95 talon work on a 94 talon??? also the alt is 90 amp instead of a 80 amp,is that ok?? I duno. thanks

Higher amperage is ok but a 2g alt (95) will not work on a 1g (94). They have different wiring and operate differently.

How does the 2g alternator operate differently than a 1g ????

Maybe I should have said operate slightly differently. The 2g alt has a 4 pin connector, 2 wires of which go from the alt's regulator to the ECU (not sure what exactly the ECU does with these, if it's just monitoring or controls it in some situation). The other 2 wires are red (to battery) and black/yellow (to dash charge light). The 1g alt has a 2 pin connector, yellow (to battery) and black/white (to dash charge light) and does not connect to ECU.

the 2g alternator I have has 2 pins + batt post, and the 1g alt I'm taking off has 2 pins + batt post so, I should be ok shouldn't I ????

edit: I should of mention it was from a 2g non-turbo
