Ok so my alternator went out finally and it's time for a new one. I'll probably buy it tomorrow or Tuesday so I need your advice on what a good brand to get is ASAP. I've read things like Autozone and Napa alternators are bad, don't quote me on that though. So yeah... I just want to know what a good reliable, cost efficient alternator would be. So hit me up with those posts ;)

The best place is at a alternator/starter repair shop. There you can get either brand new or a very decent rebuilt with warranty. They will even rebuild yours if you want and sometimes can rewire it to put out more amps. Or you can get the Canadian 90A one (or a Galant VR-4 90A one) - see 1000 AAQ - Major conversions.

The worst place is at an auto store (the shear number of bad Autozone returns on here gives you an idea). What good is a lifetime warranty when you have to replace it yourself over and over and over...:ohdamn:

Good thing their a breeze to replace. I'm with luv2rallye don't go with an autozone just to save a few bucks (well quite a few bucks) because your going to gain a big headache, bloody knuckles, etc when you have to replace it again and again and agian. Go with a factory mitsu if you don't know of any alternator repair shops.

Ok so I'm going to buy the Canadian 90 amp alternator. Does this bolt right up or do i need to convert something. If so could you point me in the right direction for the conversion. Also I read something about needing a new ALT fusible link so it doesn't burnt itself out because of the higher amps. Could you also tell me about this and what I'd need to do for that. Thanks. :)

*bump* I need to know ASAP so yeah.... Could someone help me out? :) Thanks again.
