Ive got the same kit, i think its an excellent kit for the price, only difference i noticed between my intercooler is that mine only had one mounting point on the top of it as well as the pictures of the kit on ebay, and yours came with 2:confused: , i guess their not all perfect.

Good looking kit, let us know how it works for you. The only thing that bothers me with it is how small the end tanks are. Other than that, it looks really good.

If you guys didnt hook up the intercooler yet, maybe its a good idea to pressurize it
to see how it holds
I found mine leaking at 20 psi
I dont have the same one as you guys, but it was also from e-bay and from a different vendor
so i cut it open to reweld it ,but the inside was not welded at all:confused:
Where the core meets the side case only two bars were welded the rest of them had some kind of sillicone gum on them :notgood:
So now i am looking for another intercooler:toobad:
so if one of you guys can pressurize the core and let us know how it holds and at how much psi you pressurized it.

Sweet I also have this kit, im about to mount my core this weekend. Mine also only had one mount in the middle. The end tanks are 2.5" on the 1g kit, I think. I have a 1ga and they dont have the cool mounting spot like the 1gb's. Im not sure how im going to mount it.

I feel you there. When I was fabing up brackets for that FP core that I was thinking about running it took me forever to get it just right. Even in the pic in my gallery the core sits a little higher on one side. I ended up giving it back to the guy that I was thinking about buying it from just because it was way bigger than what I needed.

How baout you let us know wich one it was so we dont buy it!!

PM if possable

Im installing the core this weekend. I need to drive my car and im pretty sure I wont get the pipes done. Im going to try and fab up something, my mechanic said if I removed my bumper and bring it to him he will weld up a mount for it. I may just have to do that. Ill post pics of the finished product.

mounting mine was alot easyer then i expected.... the top to mounts are bolted to the inside headlight mounts with a bent piece of flat iron.. i drilled out the hole a little bigger and ran a 1\4 bolt threw it with a nut on the other side... the bottom two mounts were even easyer... just another bent piece of flat iron, bolted to the radiator support..:rocks:

Yea my core only has one mount in the middle on the top. The 92-94's are a little different and have a perfect spot to mount the core in the middle. Mine does not and I dont even have my hood latch anymore. Thats how my mechanic usually does it. He makes a bracket that bolts to the hood bracket. Since I dont have one he is going to have to build his own little bracket. I dont have a welder so im most likely going to take it to him.

Dont worry about that because that vendor no longer sells on ebay.
I dont want to put anyone down, but my opinion is that when you buy a relative cheap intercooler i gues it will hold boost to a sertain amount.
(you get what you pay for)
thats why i suggested to the guys who started this thread,to do a pressure test to see how it holds so we get an idea of what quality its made of.

Dont get me wrong, this is a nice looking kit, but wil it safely hold 25psi of boost??

I know the xoxo core can take a good amount of boost. My mechanic has installed many FMIC's and always used that kit. He cut open a top brand name core and compared them both. Pretty much identical, looked like xoxo look there design.
