so i just brought it a week or so ago came today ups and i got it used from the classified section but it didn't have adapter for the maf sensor or filter so i have to buy one also it says its California legal & certified with CARB exemption number or sticker but i don't have the sticker or number :( what should i do about that ? and on their web site says you have to use their air filter supposedly or else you'll get a check engine light :hmm: dont see how it would but i guess LOL i was going to buy the K&N adapter & filter K&N High Flow Filter w/ MAS Adapter Plate (2g DSM) - Modern Automotive Performance

not sure will it work but its worth a try

also looks like I'm missing some brackets not sure if i need them but here is the install on their website with pictures http://www.injen.com/galleries/products/62220111345IS1890-IS1891_03192009.pdf

I know how ya feel Ron!

Hate getting packages in the mail.

Our best bet here in Cali is taking a trip down to RRE if we don't wanna wait.

how far is RRE ?

Um, no.

I used the K&N FIPK which is probably the biggest intake available for our cars while using the Injen hard pipe. I didn't have any issues. It might be a tight fit if your intercooler pipes are using the stock route via the hole by the filter.

OP: Stop worrying too much about the CARB sticker, it's not like you'll need it every single day. If you need to smog your car, just take it off and put the stock one back on...takes like 5 minutes.
If you really want a CARB sticker, purchase a NEW K&N FIPK and it comes with the sticker, pricey as hell but it looks nice.

I know i could just pull it off but i want to pull less things off the car when that time comes

dnt get k and n the filter wont fit, you will hae to compress it and mess it up, the injen hard pipe is too long

the previous owner use a K&N filter 4.5inch but he just sold me the intake no adapter & a crapy use filter WTF i thought it would be at lease in good condition but it wasn't at all

if you use the fipk kit with the injen intake you'll have a screw sticking out by the top of the intake filter. The screw is for the stock are and mounts nicely to the bolt on the car itself. Im running the injen with kn fipk... no hassle.

For 120 you can find a kn fipk kit that comes with the maf adapter, that's supossly cali legal. (Which is not since kn didn't apply it to the intake yet, you will need to request a new carb number from kn)
Wasn't there a review here that the apexi filter had the worst results in filtering and power producing?

This or that

No hks had the worst filteration system read this!

http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/

Apexi is the most free flowing and filters more dirt from the intake! This is what won me from buying a blitz.

wow :applause: nice info thank you

Yes it will flow better than stock and also will sound better. It will also fit with a j pipe, i run a 16g with this intake.

That's good same set up I'm running:) hard decision now either apexi or K&N but apexi looks to be the best ! so now i gotta check prices on a few web sites and compare them

So I decided to go with the k&N for now I want the apexi but I don't have the funds right now I'm going to order the filter either this coming week or the flowing and when it comes ill post and let you guys know what I think about it and how it runs but I'm sure I'm going love it LOL

i thought i share this with you guys even though it's a old post i contacted injen and they were nice enough to send me both stickers i needed for my intake :D and both were free ! carb sticker and injen tuned sticker
