On our shop shelf, we have an OEM Mitsubishi starter motor, with relay.

The sticker on it says "Mitsubishi Electric Mfg. Cincinnati USA"

Both the starter and solenoid castings have the Mitsubishi logo on them, and the starter casting has the following number on it, which we have been unable to cross-reference:

M1T704835206ZC 12V

I tried calling Mitsubishi Electric in OH, but they didn't have anyone who knew how to access old records.

Is this starter for an automatic, or manual, transmission?

from what my info tells me thats a manual starter.

As rallye showed the manuals peek out into the housing alot more then the autos do for visual refference

Thank you both. I'll go with it being for a manual transmission.

It's odd, that out of the whole ww web, no one has documented the oem casting numbers for these starters.

If anyone still has their oem starter, and can see the numbers on the nose casting, please pass it along. Maybe we can catalog it under one of the parts threads in 'Tuners.
