i need help please

i want to know what is this part in the picture i think is the EGR SOLENOID VALVE this thing has a plastic line between it and the intake manifold that plastic line broke and after that im having problems when the car is warm when i go WOT the car stops running the engine kind of dies and i think its choking on fuel i want to know if this has to do anything?
