its more a dampner then anything, the stock piece that is.
the last thing i would imagine doing is underdriveing the accessories, these cars tend have enough voltage issues with a stock set up.
i like that piece because its solid, and offers no rubber seal to ware out over time.
none the less I'll take the car out for a drive today and see if my work last night (belt tension) has fixed my other little issue.

Expect crankwalk within the next few months because you failed to read on what underdrive pulleys do to our cars.
One guy's outer ring came off and rolled down the track?

Well, my belt squeel is back. It's only on cold start-ups and only lasts for about 30 seconds, but it's progressivily getting worse, and it's annoying as hell.
I have a brand new Fluidampr, a new alternator, and a belt with about 900 miles on it. Is is possible that I over-tensioned the belt, causing the bearings in the alternator to wear excessivily? Thoughts?

Damn, that sucks Kevin. Any damage to the head?
No damage to the head, but..... James

Change it before it breaks apart, mines did but it didn't mess up anything, thank god

Verified mine last night. I pulled the alternator belt, the squeeling went away, and my idle improved. So it's definitely either the alternator or the belt.Well my squealing startup has gone away because well, my timing belt snapped. I'd check that and avoid what I'm going through now.
