So what do you guys think? My new set-up is the dark perofrmance divided t4 manifold mated to billet wheel hx52 with 16 cm turbine housing. I had to add a flange to space the compressor housing for the forth runner.:hellyeah: Cant wait to test this beast out. Its still kind of close to the compressor housing. You think this will be a problem?

That is sweet, what are you goals for the car with the hx-52? That thing is a monster!

I would like to get a 9.50 or better out of the car, but that wont be for a while. I need to install a cage and get some slicks first. The local tracks dont seem to like the no cage thing, I tryed LOL. The first run they were all over me. I dont know if I want to put a cage in the car. Its still a weekend cruiser and the kids love to go for rides in daddys race car (just cruises)LOL, so we need to keep the rear seats accessable.

As long as there is some gap there I don't think it will be a problem. There's no reason for anything to be flexing there which would allow it to rub or contact, so I would think you will be okay.:) You might want to consider doing some wrap on that manifold though.;)

Good luck with the car and I hope to see you around with it sometime.:thumb:

Take the silencer ring out of the compressor inlet. You should love the turbo. I run one and so does my friend. So far is talon has gone 218mph with it.

LOL. That clip is mf'er, I tryed for a few minutes but I couldnt get it.

All I used was a flat head screw driver.

Im about to go try that right now. Bored in this house, im getting cabin fever. Did you ever find somewhere to get the right v-band for the exhaust outlet?

I got one from siliconeintakes. Then we put the turbine housing in a lathe and turned it down to match. THe flange I bought was 4.5" OD, the housing was 4.7" OD.

But we have had good luck using a local semi truck supply store for all of our parts lately. They have had everything or can get everything we need be it normal or odd ball sizes for stuff.

Thats what I was thinking of doing to find the v-band and 4in pipe. Theres a few semi dealers near by.

Man... im jealous!! :/
my 14b looks like a sluggious ant compaired to that!

Here's my Ported 14b housing from my Galant "Inside" of my polished HX52 housing from my Talon.. LOL, crazy difference!

Lol. I have one of all three turbos 14b,hx35,hx52. I took a few weeks ago. I also have a few install pics. Finally bolted it up, PITA. This manifold is really starting to annoy me!!!

UPDATE!!! This F'ing manifold hits the hood!!! So pissed.

It actually hit the support in the hood so I was going to cut it out, but I was going to get the car painted this year and im worried it will burn the paint off the hood.

Maybe try snips or a manual saw like a hack saw. It'd be nice to fit that big turbo under a hood and be so unassuming when you crack off a mid 9 sec pass.

... oh, you were talking about the heat from the ex. manifold buring the fresh paint on the hood cause it's so close to the outer skin. Yeah i can see why you would be concerned. Guess i would go with the vent option too. Hey EVOs got em, join the club.

Also you should think about wrapping that mani. Put some heat wrap just in case, especially because the 4th runner is so close to the compressor.

And if you cant get the hood to work, you can always cut 2 identical tops on the hood and also use it as a "heat reduction vent" LOL

I would really hate to cut any holes in the hood. That would look extremely ricey.

I would say paint it with high temp paint or whatever its called AND wrap it and do anything else you can think of to keep the manifold cool

Get it ceramic coated then and cut the support of the hood out. My new manifold (SLS) goes pretty high but clears my CF hood by a little bit since there's no medal support underneath
