HX40 BEP housing

Im looking into getting a hx40. I have looked on ebay and all of the hx40 turbos ive seen on there looked fake.Are there any real ones on ebay? Where can i find a genuine hx40 that is in good condition? SBR supposedly has a the BEP mitsu flanged exhaust housing for the hx40. I looked on their site and could not find it. Where can i get a BEP exhaust housing for the hx40? Im not looking to spend a fortune on this.

I would look on the cummins forums.. I would also call some of the deisel shops around michigan and see if they have any... They are cheap to rebuild also like 200 bucks..

Here is the only one I saw that is a true holset. You can buy the BEP housings directly from BEP. I dont give slowboy the time of day anymore.

They're on there occasionally. You just have to know what to search for and what you're actually going to be buying so you don't get ripped off. The general public knows nothing about turbochargers, so they may mislead you unintentionally.

Contact the sales team at BEP or call SBR, they have been offering deals.

And yeah they do spool faster than the gt35r at badman21 has dynoed 685hp/584tq on straight E85 and 50/50 methanol, but if you're looking for that you got to step up your game in mods.

You can get a BEP housing from Tim's Turbos - Turbo Rebuilding. He has the mitsu flanged ones in stock and can have e t3/vband dropshipped. You can get a hx40 if you search for guy named saulg one ebay. If you find one of his turbo ads you can call the number he has listed and ask for a hx40. Hes got alot of them, even some volvo billet wheeled hx40's.

Yes call them up or just email. I got a prompt reply from just an email from BEP.

Its not proven the hx40 has faster spool but it seems to from data logs. I have yet to see someone with the same setup test the two back to back on a dyno so no proof. The new HTA tech. is doing really well. I know some one with a 35r hta and it does awesome on his 2.0L.

Jay, Badman21 did a DIRECT swap from the gt3076r to the hx40 and the spool was the same. And of course the gt30 turbine spools alot faster than the gt35 turbine. So it would be safe to say that it's been proven by at least one setup with a direct comparison. I'm sure if badman put a gt35r on instead of an hx40 the spool would have been later than the gt3076r. Or we wouldn't see garret providing the gt30 for sale because it would flow less and spool the same as a gt35.

so i should be able to get the turbo and the bep housing for around $450 combined? 220 for the housing and 230 for the turbo? is the evo3 manifold and evo3 o2 housing ok? how can i run an external wg without getting a new exhasut mani? can you mod the evo3 mani?

What are your plans? You definitely need a more mods. Just because you're getting this turbo is not all you have to do. With what you have in your profile I'd say that a HX35 is more reasonable for choice, but that's my 2 cents.

I remember this now, its what made me want to get one in the first place. Where all conditions the same. Same temp, same dyno or street, same tune, boost levels, starting rpms, gear??

Gear and rpms makes a huge difference when boost hits and how fast. Its what makes comparing so hard. If I start at a 200rpm difference in two logs I will see the difference in the spool.

According to badman21, it was a direct swap. Same shop, gear, starting rpms, tuner. Conditions were the same, except a little warmer in the shop for the hx40, from what I recall. The dynograph of the 650 whp hx40 pull in the holset results thread is right over the 550whp gt3076r pull. . .

i know this is old, but does anyone have a picture of the CHRA side of this BEP housing, curious what the bolt patern is cause im going to try and custom fit an FP30 style hot side on an HX40

If possible get the 7 blade billet wheel. I've heard thats the strongest. I also have a guy near me who rebuilds turbos and I know he has hx40's.
