How to use this wastegate gasket?

This is a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyways. I bought some stainless steel gaskets for my 38mm external wastegate.

They are flat, except for in the middle they are raised up. This raised portion faces the wastegate right (will sit against the valve seat)? Also, I am worried if it would seal good or not since it has the raised portion.

The gasket has a raise on it for a reason. Once put on and tightened, that ridge will help make a good sealing surface.

to be honest it doesn`t really mater witch way u put it on ,it will seal either way.the wg has a insert ring that will seal it off weather it has a lip or flat (my 38mm gasket is flat with no leaks )

Alright cool....I guess I will put the lip against the wastegate side then

The fire ring looks like it will prevent it from seating good but when you start to tighten the wastegate down it will push up on the gate a little bit and will seat flush but at first it looks like it won't sit but it will FYI

it can go either way as long as you have the ring agianst the valve in the wastegate than ull be good and no leaks

that ring is like a compression type ring, it will seat either way, and give a good seal
