I have my lifters out and I bleed them all* before bleeding i couldn't move any of them*

now i can move them between my thumb and index finger easily. I cleanned them out with seafoam soaking them over night.

How can I tel if i need replacement ones. I know before I pulled them i did have a little chatter up top.

here is a picture of them.

When in doubt i would grab some new ones off ebay around 90 bucks, reinstall them and you could have some lifter tick, i never tested mine just replaced them and saved a headache later.

Why do you guys say to " save ourselves a headace". If later on, those lifters start ticking, then maximum there would be noise... it's not like the engine will broken because of that... its just noise.. of course its telling you that they are not properly oil loaded but, again, the engine will not suffer.

Can anyone give an opinion on those extreme psi lifters vs the oem???
dispite the price... (oem lifter :35 dollars each) And does anyone knows the oem brand of the lifterS?

i know i got A LOT of chunks of stuff and oil coming out of them after i soaked them and re bleed them several times with sea foam and keep getting cleanner and cleanner.

Went from one pump dark black to light and light till almost went clear. I used 4L of sea foam doing this.

I got mine from extremepsi and they are good! No problems I've heard a lot of people run them. Good replacement over oem!

I'm gonna run these see if it cleaned them out because they don't have that tacky sticky feel anyone when i release it in my fingers.

if it works good I have pictures and everything I'll do a how to.

It;s worth a shot bud. Give it a go and please, report back with results! I think youll be surprised, that tick will be gone.

PLeasee!!!! if you do a how to, start from the taking off the valve cover!!
i will apreciate so much!!

ps: noone answer my questions!!! ;)

when they go CLACK CLACK CLACK they are the older gen ones.....and those look like gen 1's. gen 3's have a MUCH larger oiling hole on the top.

I used toplines from extreme and they are DEAD quiet. just get a new set and never worry again.

GSC zero tick lifters all the way!!!

Link??

To the OP. I see no reason they won't be just fine but like some others here, those look like the old school style. I have Redline revised VLAs and they don't make a bit of sound. The revisions have different oiling hole sizes which will just allow oil to freely pass through for longer before clogging up and tapping again... I got mine from STM. Let us know how well the cleaning job works.

Diesel fuel is what the fsm recommends to clean them. I usually soak them for a few days than pump them up in the diesel fuel a few times than rinse them with clean diesel. From there you can prime them with oil and install. The bigger hole in the revised lifter doesn't help the lifter be quieter. It is just there so that the less crud will remain in the lifter. If you look at the size of the hole in the rocker and that it is so small than the bigger hole in the lifter shouldn't make much of a difference.

If you want OE 3g HLAs, hit Ebay and find Engnbldr, the ones he sells come from the same plant in Canada that made them for mitsu.
