Hey everyone
Has anyone had any success in running a 2g ecu in a 1g car?

any help is appreciated
thanks

Making the harness to convert is just a difficult as rewiring the car for it.
Hal did a VFAQ back before the 1G DSMLink came out for those guys who wanter to put a 2G ECU in a 1G. I don't have the link on this machine. If your still looking next week when I get home again I'll post it.

Yes it has been done, and yes it has done well. However most people I know that have done this never were able to get it to run perfectly, consistantly. If you are putting a standalone in, the chances are better that you can fine tune it.

Check out NEDSM as I am pretty sure there is a write up on it there.

If you could find that link when you get a chance, that would be great. Thanks!

LOL, Yes the OBD1 and OBD2 connectors and pinouts are quite a bit different.
Just compare the two pinouts on the VFAQ site.

yeah i think i would rather go with the stand alone made just for the 1g or gvr4. To much of a hassle hacking up the ecu connectors.

My problem is, if I get a standalone such as a DSMLink, it is made for the US ecu, whereas I have a ###-spec vr4 which has different pinouts
so either way i'd have to rewire it

Do you have pinouts for the JDM ecu? I believe the only difference is the fuel pump circuit.
