Hey guys I have a 92 tsi and my brother has a 95 he went stand alone and gave me his ecu, just wondering if i can and if so what i have to do to run a 95 eprom in my 92? Any help would be great. Thanks

Yes you can run the 2g. ECU. however you will need to change the crank sensor to a 2g one and also you'll have to put in the OBD II connector in it also. in my understanding that's all that's different about them.

I'd be interested in hearing more on this as I haven't researched it any.

By the way, Rob, you're apparently located in my Birth-town.. with my dreamcar. ;3 That laser wouldn't happen to be AWD would it?

Rob thanks i am actually using the bottom end from the 95 so the crank angle is still on it i will have to do some searching on the obd2 plug cause his being a 95 i thought it was still a obd1

DSMs from 1995 and on are OBD2.

Yes the 95 is technically OBD2 however I do believe the US treats it as OBD1 do to the OBD2 standard not being officially in effect until 1996. So you could probably do without the OBD2 plug if it weren’t do to the fact that you need it to interface with a laptop... OBD-II Background Information

OP. Try looking in the Engine management section. There should be a couple of threads on the subject. Also try looking on EvolutionM.net under the ECUFlash tuning sub forum there is a thread there on putting an EVO8 ecu in a 1G. Work wise you are looking at the same amount of work. Unfortunately I don’t think there is a step by step "how to" as of yet for this.
