to answer your question you dont want to go over 15 psi without supporting mods, you shouldnt have issues at 15psi but I strongly recommend not going over

Give the car a GOOD boost leak test (BLT) and run 13psi, until you get a FMIC setup that t25 is just going to be blowing hot air. If you get a FMIC you can take the t25 to 16psi but by redline its going to be down to 10psi because the turbos so little. With that setup 13 or 14lbs is good since you won't get any noticable butt dyno gains past that...

just because it runs for that long on that psi, isnt a indicator to keep doing it, get a tuning device, and wideband those are tools for tuning. They will help you run your boost, we can guess your boost but you will know for sure when you can monitor it yourself. Every car is different keep that in mind.

I'm not trying to blow this thread up since there are plenty tangled through out this site but heres my personal experience.

The most amount of airflow I ever saw out of my t25, running 14psi or 17psi it didn't matter, was 20 lbs/min. Granted my mods were intake/exhaust/mbc/logger but it was enough to see my airflow and IDC's which were 60% on stock fp and injectors. Lets say the t25 can push 25 lbs/min, even then the stock 450cc injectors on pump gas are right at 80% IDC's which is just fine.

To the OP, you won't see power gains past 13 or 14psi without a FMIC and anything over 15 or 16psi on the t25 will reduce the life of the turbo itself.

15(ish) PSI is really the most you want to do. After than and Gofer is right, hot air as you are out of the turbos efficiency range. Not to mention, on ANY turbo before you consider raising your boost levels have the proper supporting mods and log your engine so you know you can actually run a given PSI on your setup and not take a guess and say "it runs awesome at 20 psi" when in reality it's knocking like crazy and causing extremely high EGTs.

This is why compressor maps are great to learn. You can see the turbo you are running or want to run, gauge where you want to be and then you can make an educated guess on what parts you need to get to that effiency range of the turbo and at what PSI it will be at for that designated turbo. The bigger you go, the more CF/M is being pushed and the lower psi you will need to make the same power/blow the same amount of air.

All in all, stock setup 15psi MAX. If you have all supporting mods then it's still 15psi max on the T25 since you will ultimately shorten the life of it from over working the turbo.

+2 I agree, 14 or 15 PSI is the most I'd run with your set up to keep your car a reliable Daily Driver. Definitely do a Boost Leak check before you bump it up tho to ensure your not leaking and pushing your turbo to much. :hellyeah:

The answer to this question is simple- you can run as much boost as your setup will allow until you start to see knock.

If you do not have proper logging methods to view / log knock on a 2G, you should not be increasing the boost over stock levels.

Search. Your questions have been covered about 18.8756483 million times. Also there's the upgrade path in the "TECH" section at the top left hand corner of the page. And as said before, turning up your boost without a datalogging and tuning setup is just asking for trouble.

I need to take a picture of the block I have from a guy that apparently didnt understand boost isnt a thing you play with.

Do you have a MBC and a good boost gauge?

Turn it up to 10 psi and drive it, good? Nothing funny? Try 11, then 12, 13, 14, stop at 14 unless you have some kind of data logging. A good thing to do before going higher than that is replace your Headgasket and while the head is off have it pressure tested, and install some ARP head studs.

Answer is yes. I've been running 17 for the last month and nothing bad had happened and if I'm not mistaken 2g usually run 12-14 psi stock? But u will be ok

Your making 17 PSI and not hitting fuel cut? I think you may want to do a BLT as well. I dont think your REALLY getting 17 PSI despite what your Boost Gauge says.

Unless your profile is not up to date.

my t-25 hit steady at 17 psi for a few months without any boost leaks or hitting fuel cut, even had it spike to 20 a few times, untill I realized to turn it down before the "fun" turned into expensive repair bills...then I got supporting mods and a 16G so its fun again at 17 LOL

when ever I see a post like this I always post the same thing, you can run any boost you want but you'll mess things up. If you run higher then stock boost no matter what you have done you always have a grater chance of messing stuff up! THERE IS NO SAFE BOOST!!!!

If you don't know how to do a boost leak test you shouldn't be turning up boost plain and simple because you likely don't have the knowledge to tune or run it properly.

Quoted for truth.

I really don't know how many times we have to say it, but people keep asking the same question. Without a logging tool, you CANNOT know what is SAFE for your car. Once you get your logger, take some logs, post them here, and we can help you out. Until then, run stock boost, do a boost leak test, fix your leaks, do your maintenance, do another boost leak test, use premium fuel and copper spark plugs, and call it good.

OR, run 15psi because someone said that it worked fine on their car, or run 17psi because someone else told you it worked okay on THEIR car, or run 20psi because someone else had a FMIC and their car didn't blow up. But... then again, those cars aren't YOUR car.
