The head bolts on my car have a Allen star pattern on them for removal. I don't think it's stock, but I have no idea what brand they might be.

Bet they are ARP STUDS with nuts on them, which is a good thing. Look real hard at them and see if they have 12 point nuts with washers on them. If so, you need a 14mm (for 1G) 12 point deep socket. If it were a 7 bolt block then it would need a 13mm 12 point deep socket. Are you pulling your head (and hair) out?
So do they look like this:

Was that a joke due to the stress I've been having? And checked them and I must be blind since they are just regular Alan and not the star pattern ...well....I have new star pattern sockets. The head bolts are smooth on the outside and there is a washer.

I'm sure that was a joke :)

Go pick yourself up a hex socket kit!

Soon man, you won't need to buy any more tools, best thing about being your own mechanic :) Your tool box get's bigger with every job you do!

Dah f***.....felpro head bolts it is. Or maybe arp....oil filling those holes, and the dark night sky made it look like a star pattern.

Yep just funnin ya! :thumb: I know you've been having a hard time, I have been following your problems. Those head bolts don't look stock to me, mine were all hex head, but they are bolts so rent or buy a socket to fit them. They torque back down to around 80ft/lbs so I don't know how good the socket will hold up to that and IF you had the money, now would be a great time to put the ARP studs in it.

I sorta do have the money....just....no job and still owe mosers possibly over 400 now. Paid 50 and the intrest made that payment pointless.

Those are stock headbolts. Once again...a 10mm hex socket will remove them

INTREST??? Boy Mosers hosed you didn't they! Hard lesson to learn. I do all my own stuff that way if something is goofed up, I know who to blame and I won't listen to myself yelling at me. Its also a way to learn all about a car that most people don't know crap about. On a limited budget I see. Well decisions decisions. When it comes to the head gasket and the hardware that holds the head on, don't be too cheap but if you're not boosting a lot then bolts will work and a composite gasket would work also, but make sure the surface is flat and true.
