So I installed my HKS type 0 TT the other day and works good ... for the most part. Whenever I time the car the ignition has to be in acc. To my understanding the TT should start to countdown when the ingnition is in the off position. I searched a lot on this problem and found that this issue may be due to the fact that I plugged the harness into the wrong plug. It is supposed to be a moulded blue plug, I know, but I could not find any moulded blue plug near the ignition. The only one that I found that had blue on it and that fit was a white plug that has a blue peice where the wires go into the plug. I am pretty sure that this is the wrong plug. I assume that the moulded blue plug that everyone is talking about is a solid blue plug. If someone could tell me where it is, not just under the steering wheel column cover but actually where it is located, or show me some pics of the ignition area where it would be plugged in ASAP that would be great.

Thanks

I am assuming your using the harness. The harness should be conected to the ignition cables, which are under the steering wheel cover. Its to your left you cant miss it there two big connectors on the ends.

I can take a picture of it, after I get out of work today if you can't find in by that time.

I just checked mine out, you more then likely have the correct plug as there is probably only one under the steering column that is the correct size. Mine is a while plug with a blue end like you described. Do you have a factory alarm, if so did you do the mod in the vfaq for it to work properly with the alarm? Or do you have an aftermarket alarm which can screw things up as well?

Yes I am using the harness. So it is on the left side on the bottom or top. The one that I plugged it into was underneath the the whole steering column and everything.

I do have an aftermarket alarm but I am not sure if it is hacked into the stock alarm as I am not sure if my car came with a stock alarm. It did not come with a remote when I purchased the car, so I don't think that it has a factory alarm on it. I did look at the VFAQ and I was thinking of doing that this weekend. But when I searched I found that someone else was having this same problem and it turned out he plugged it into the wrong plug. So before I went hacking into the wires I wanted to make sure it was in the right plug.

Your issue is probably with the aftermarket alarm and how its wired. I remember reading a post on it a long time ago but can't recall what had to be done to get it to function correctly. I don't think (or not sure) if the wiring that you need to do with a factory alarm will work on your aftermarket setup.

I belive that I have thought of a solution to this problem. If I take the switched 12v wire and connect it to a constant 12v soruce the TT would think that the keys were left in even when switched to off, correct? And if I connect the ingnition input to my alarm on a switched 12v source than when I switched the key to the off position the TT would start timing and I would be able to lock the car with the alarm. Am I correct with my thinking or am I having a crack dream?
