and I thought I was just supposed to connect it all together at the bleed nipple and pump away, then close the valve and replace the fluid. clutch pedal now loose. so I thought maybe I had to pump the clutch with my foot to help before tightening the valve. did that still didn't work. what am I doing wrong?

edit: actually, I got it to work, but now the clutch engages really close to the floor so I have to really step on it. what's going on? what do I do now?

edit: okay now after an hour of driving the pedal is back to normal. so, IS everything normal? I'll assume so...

For bleeding I have that same self bleeder too, but never had much luck with it getting all the air out of the master. I still prefer the old fashion way best of having someone press the pedal down/up while I'm opening/closing the bleeder valve.
After bleeding then follow the video.

i have an automatic..
but when i bleed clutches with a round master,
i usually fill
the master as much as i can...
cut a bike innertube...tie off one end,
and clamp the other to the master....
add a little pressure (air up the inner tube)..
pump the pedal a few time... then
open the bleeder valve for justa second...
fill the master back up...and it should work.
easy peasy ...can b messy..dont forget to clea
any spills...brake/clutch fluid is a great paint remover! ..zimmy

When I bled my clutch set up I had my brother pump the clutch 6-10 times hold the clutch down and I opened the bleed valve on the slave let the fluid bleed into an empty container and shut the valve before the fluid stopped bleeding. Closing it while the fluid is still coming out. Then have someone press the clutch again until pressure is back and repeat the whole time watching the Master cylinder reseviour keeping it full of fluid.

Never had any issues. Besides my Master cylinder taking a dump 2k miles later. Cheap autoparts store one.
