hey guy im havin trouble whit ma 92 tsi..... what happens its that always stays revin up and down badly..... ive been told my ecu was the problem..... i dont know what to do... other question is ... can i use a 89-90 tsi ecu on ma 92 talon tsi thanks .... and sorry for ma bad english im live i am from puerto rico thanks alot:pray:
 
Download the IEspellcheck to help with your spelling. In the top right of the message box you reply with it has "ABC" over a check mark. Yes, the ECU should work with your car. I know the 1990 year is a bit funky and not too sure about the '89 but I'm pretty sure that those early years will work. The later year 1g ECUs will (91-94).

Before you do the ECU test your TPS sensor. On VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions under the "intake" link there is a sub-link that shows you how to test it. You just need a multimeter to check it and I would also check the ISC. Both are located on the throttle body. TPS (Throttle position sensor) is on front and ISC (Idle Speed Control) is on the side below the intake piping.
 
thanks alot ... but my 92 ecu was bad... i changed it to the 90 , and now im havin trouble whit the (maf) ### when i start the car whit (maf) pluged in, it loose power and stalls... also the first owner told me that the car has some kind of switch thats cuts the elctricity on the car.. and now the thing is when i try to shut down the car, it wont .... i do it by realising the clutch in 5th gear
