help stock fuel filter!!

Remove the battery, battery tray and upper intercooler pipe. From there you will need 2 wrenches, one to hold the filter and one to turn the fitting on the line. If you don't use one to hold the filter than you will twist the line off. Put the 2 wrenches on so that you can squeeze them together to loosen the nut.
 
i tryed that took as much shit as possible and still can't. just a pain in the ass..

i think i will just have to buy that kit..

where can i get the tank to rail kit from?

That is an awful way to go about it. You didn't try near hard enough. I don't mean to sound like a dick, but if you can't handle changing the fuel filter than you have no business trying to install an aftermarket fuel system.

If you can't squeeze them, then place a prybar/screwdriver between them and push. This will help break them free. But, as stated, use Flare-nut wrenches. I used the prybar to break free one that was ORIGINAL form 1992, that had sat on the car since it was parked in 1999 with a thrown TB.
 
You are right, that spot sucks real bad for access, plain and simple.

I'm not trying to speak on anyones mechanical knowledge or ability...of course you can spend 30 minutes or 3 hours trying to get the bolt lose. Bryan you know first hand how much of a pain the OEM filter can be I've seen your posts :p If you plan on upgrading the system anyway and have funds available, then it is a great way to go about it. I'm not trying to open up a new way of thinking here this is only relative to the fuel filter.

No matter what OP is going to have to do the research when and if he upgrades the fuel system, just like he's researching on filter removal. Sure you can get tips on removing the bolt, give it another shot blah blah. But if an upgrade is in line why not do it now? Which personally I think is less frustrating and you accomplish greater in the process.

I don't think that they are a pain in any way, i've done hundreds of them. I can change the filter in around 10-15 minutes. When you know how to do it properly, the nut comes right loose. In the time that it took to get on line and search for parts to upgrade the filter could of been changed and the car been back on the road. The stock line isn't that big of a restriction, as well as the filter isn't either. The banjo bolt is the biggest restriction, on top of the filter. There are people making 550+ horsepower on the stock lines and filter.
 
Use a torch to loosen up the banjo :D Just kidding. Seriously though, pb blast, crank on it, pb blast. It helps if it is tight to the firewall, i had my friend hold the filter with a pipewrench while I cranked on it repeatedly. Finally came loose.
 
i will try again, i will not let it beat me:mad:!!

i have done much more harder work on this car and others..

i will do the tank to rail up grade some time next year when i drop in a built

motor..

Sorry Bryan, you are right. I mixed up your posts with someone elses. And yes ofcourse people can make plenty of power on the stock setup, I was just stating that the upgrade has it's benefits.
