OK I have a 95 tsi fwd auto. I have the following mods and was wondering why my car is still so slow?
HRC s20g(17 psi)
550 RC injectors
walbro 255 fuel pump
Apexi AFC
B&M fuel pressure regulator
3 inch turbo back w/out cat
no internal mods
stock intercooler and pipeOMG
k&n filter
----------------------------------------
Winter projects
high stall converter
heavy duty internals
front mount
---------------------------------------
When I got all the parts I thought that my car would hall ass. Well I must be doing something wrong or I have the wrong parts. Any help or comments about my BIG problem would be greatful.
Thanks alot.
Justin

you guys don’t look at it from my point of view. I do alot of work on my car at night and I don’t really live close to a strip. I know the g-tech isn’t really accurate but it still gives me an idea. Plus, alot of people that own them don’t use them right. you have to do 5 runs with it and disregard the fastest run and the slowest run and take the average of the other 3. Most people just run it once and think its the exact numbers you would get if u ran it at a strip. If I’m wrong someone tell me.

You're wrong.

The GTech will give you different numbers if there is a slight incline, if there is a slight decline, if you hit too many bumps, if your alternator is dying....blah blah blah blah.

ok ok ok i get the point i'll sell that stupid P.O.S to one of my friends. ill use the money to buy somthing worth while. you guys could make a joke out of it insted of making me look like a total fool.

We tried. You didn't listen. Read this thread again.

Someone else to learn about Hahn turbos from.

If the gtech is right about you trapping 108 mpg you cars not slow at all.

get real IC piping...and im PRAYING you have a real bov!!!

i posted that i have a turboXs bov. what kind of hahn turbo do u have ItsStockOfficer? your info dosnt have anything about your mods

i dont want to bad mouth HRC just because my car isnt running right. i think that the people there put alot of time and thought into the turbo setup for the DSMs. the fit to the car was def thought out. i dont have any boost creep but i do have lag, as to be aspected from a big turbo. so i think that my turbo is fine.

I don't think you have anything wrong with the turbo, I just think it is too big for your setup.

If that is what you have, and you have no money, I completely understand, but if you have a choice, a smaller, faster spooling turbo will fit your needs better. There are turbos out there(GT-10/12, L1R etc) that will spool as fast as a small turbo, but make as much or more power than your 20g.

Most likely someone will be happy to trade you a good ported 16g for your 20g. And as long as both turbos are in good shape, you will both be happy, as long as his car is setup to take a big mutha turbo :)

That is the stupidest thing I have ever been forced to read.

My first mod was exhaust, my second was a 20g, my third was a fuel pump....on those 3 mods I ran 12.6@113 and have never looked back. A 20g IS NOT a big turbo, its just decently, 16g's are trash.

Whats your lag? My tdo6 is 3400 for full boost @ 15 psi

Ok, it might not be the most educated thing you have ever read, but unless you have only read this thread in your whole life(including off-line reading such as newspapers) I highly doubt it is the stupidest. :)

And you may want to talk to Mike Huml about his views on the 16g. He has stated more than once that the Mitsu 16g is "one of the finest turbos on the planet".

And guess what?? I believe him in this case.

oh and no one forced you to read this post. You did that on your own. :)

16g does nothing on pump gas, with cam's it runs out of breath fast, and it only spools MAYBE 2-300 rpm faster then a tdo6 20g, which makes 60-100 more hp.

Wgheres the benefit....
