ok. so im on lunch real quick. had a question in regards to a turbo i want to put in my car. bought it used off a friend. he only ran it like 10 miles until he blew his stock motor. i know not too bright. he told me it was a garret t3/t4 hybrid. bought it without thinkin. deal was too good to pass up. but now that i look at it, i dont see garret stamped on it. there is a plate on it this is what it reads:
turbocharger
type: t3/t4
RE no: y060301074

the compressor housing has a/r .50 on it and the turbine housing has a/r.63 on it. i will post pictures after work. but any info is appreciated. i need to know what it is i have so i can set up the car accordingly.:D

The last one of those I had in my hands literally lasted around 80 miles before the journal bearings took a dump. I serviced it with Genuine Garrett journal bearings and a stagger-gap turbine seal, and as far as I know it's still boosting to this day.

The compressor wheel's inducer spec was smaller than a Garrett 50-trim- closer to a Garrett 46-trim....but the exducer was slightly smaller as well. I suppose that's where they're getting the "50-trim" spec from.

I have one in my Booted Ranger, got it used and I have put 30k miles on it with no issues

yep... I have 2 of them... they work good on my combo....

you will have to go external WG on a DSM... the plate you will want for the exhaust bend is on EBay for about $20

But if you decide not to use it... Hit me up... I could use another on the deal! :D

That turbo is about a direct bolt on replacement on the 83-83 Thunderbird Turbo Coupes, Mustang SVO and the Merkur XR4Ti.. or about any 2.3T engine

are you talking about the plate to bolt up to the turbine? the 5-bolt? i found an o2 housing made by vibrant performance for a direct bolt up from turbo to down pipe. might go that route. and is there anywhere i can get a flow chart or some more info on this turbo and its capabilities??
