As the title says im replacing the T25 with a 16g. I am running the oil feed from the head rather than the oil filter housing.

I already have the oil feed setup for the 16g but want to block off the stock 2g line from the oil filter housing. The problem is I cannot figure out the correct size for the plug.

The line appears to be metric hardline but I was unable to correctly match it to anything.
I have found a brass fitting at ACE but I dont think its quite right. I DO NOT want to use the oil feed from the housing I want it to run correctly from the head.

Thanks

It looks to be fine thread? is it 3/8 fine. Its definately not normal NPT or compression fitting and I couldnt find a metric bolt to go into it. A 7/16 - 20 which is fine thread seemed like it might fit but wasnt sure.

Just out of curiosity why arent you running it off the OFH?? The line is only like 50 bucks.

Because your not supposed to run the 16g off the OFH it will kill the seals over time. I want this done right. This turbo is mint. AND Im looking into the BSE kit and I know for a fact im going to have higher oil PSI when that is done. So Im planning ahead saving myself a headache and some money. Ive been sitting on the 14b setup for awhile and ran across a 16g and a deal I couldnt pass up. Im learning patience and Im hoping that I do everything RIGHT the first time. I dont want oil/coolant leaks and a blown turbo due to lack of patience and rushing to get it done.

I don't think so. I ran my old E316g off the OFH all it's life and had ZERO problems with it. Put plenty of miles on it too. About the BSE and it being too much pressure, I have no clue. Still have not done that. Hopefully someone will chime in about that.

And antilag is right, it's a BPT fitting. Which are very hard to find. If you can't find one, check online at hydraulic machinery supply stores. They carry BPT fittings in the right sizes.

...because the line to properly source the 16G from the head, as the TD05H center housing was intended, is $22 new.

3/8" BSPT, a plug is Mitsubishi part number MD145018. You will have to remove the adapter fitting that the stock feed line screwed into from the oil filter housing to install the plug.

so its better to run an evo3 16g off the head? because i was wondering the exact same thing. i elemenated balance shafts so im guessing the head is the best way to go. not sure yet, everyone says different things. i just wanna do it the right way

Its recommended to run the oil feed line in all Mitsu turbos from the head. Thats how it came from the factory on 1gs. 2g's are a different story because they came with a Garret t-shitttz25.

yea thats what i thought. i guess ill be running it from the head then

I ran my evo3 16g unrestricted form OFH for 3 1/2 years.. And i drove that thing into the ground.. 21-25 psi all the time... Never got any shaft play or damage on fins of turbine.. Nor did i blow any seals.. Still brand new if you ask me :thumb: But am currently running my G50 from the head... Still no prob there.. I think you could go either way and be fine IMO....... Hope this helps

Wisemen I appreciate your thoughts on this. I am hoping by doing things right it will work properly with no leaks and have a cleaner appearance. As for the fitting thanks for the info. I knew it wasnt the typical metric or NPT it wasnt close to anything I had laying around.

Oh btw you can order the feed line from JNZtuning. I ordered mine for $30.00 shipped. Ive been waiting on it about a week but they have been excellent about keeping me informed. The rep stated they had to reorder the line from mitsu as they havent sold it in over 2 years. Most people use the SS lines but they leak after awhile. Then they had computer issues and lost their UPS tracking numbers. So Im awaiting the arrival of the line. In the meantime Calan is bumming me his oil feed while his car is down. If I can just find the plug I should be set :thumb:
