Hi All,

I have a few stripped holes on the head for the exhaust manifold studs. I have a 1G 91 Talon TSi AWD A/T. I found:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/263480-heli-coil-exhaust-manifold-stud.html

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-miscellaneous/267280-how-use-helicoil.html

Both reference the Helicoil kit 5546-8. I ordered it and got it in today. I noticed that the coils are the same size as my studs and I don't see how the stud would fit and thread inside it. I have not installed anything yet. Do the coils Expand some during the installation? As of right now with the coil in my hand I could not thread the stud into it.

Thanks
Chris

Oh wow, I grabbed the wrong stud when I was checking it out. I grabbed the one for the O2 Housing LOL. The exhaust studs thread in it fine!

Thats the proper kit 8mm X 1.25 pitch

As long as you have the proper studs and someone before you put 5/16 SAE studs in, ir tapped it for some other stud to fix pulled threads.....

The coil should screw over the stud
