I have an exhaust leak, pulled the heatshield today to see if I can locate it. The upper right bolt (or stud, not sure), that goes through the engine lift bracket, is completely missing, and the heatshield is completely black in that area. So I'm guessing thats my culprit.
However, I have no idea what size bolt to get to replace it with.

Anybody know?

This place has some nice new ones you can get or you can just get the size off the site and go to a hardware store and buy some. I would recommend gettings ones off this site becasue they put up with alot of heat cycles and that can kill a bolt ot stud fast if it isnt the correct material.

If you're talking about the studs that go from your exhaust manifold to your engine block then those are 8mmx1.25 studs.

This statement may not be accurate in all cases, but in MOST cases, when going to purchase a bolt for any mitubishi threaded hole, the pitch is 1.25. Usually all that is left to figuring out is the diameter of the bolt...

xxmmX1.25

hope this helped in some way for future reference

This is true. Some,(If I'm not mistaken)2g have 10mmx1.25 at the two farthest ends of the manifold.

is that for the outside ones or inside ones? The ones on the inside are smaller then the two on the outside tops.

Yes.The outside ones should be 10mmx1.25x(whatever the length is in mm).The inner ones are 8mmx1.25x(whatever the length in mm)studs.I know this because I just replaced mine last month with some stainless steel ones. :thumb:
