My 92 talon non turbo 6 bolt dropped valves awhile ago. I recently got around to taking the head off, the pistons are alright but i need a whole new head. I know the eclipse , talon, and laser are similar but what year range head can I use? A Junk yard by me has a few 95 and up eclipses and a 1990 talon but I dont know if I can use them or not. Thanks

Regardless of whether it's a T/E/L the heads should be more or less interchangeable as long as it's all among 4g63 engines. The main differences would be that I believe that 7 bolt heads have narrower head studs, but it could be that they have wider head studs I can't recall. Other than that know that 2g heads will have a different port design, narrower, less flow but higher velocity, and turbo motors will have different cams from the N/A motors. Thats all I know, but there may very well be more. Good luck

The N/T cams are different fom the turbo cams. You will feel a loss in power up top with turbo cams. Just swap your current head's cams into any 1G 4g63 head, and you'll be just fine.

ok thanks..One of my cams bent too so I will need cams also. I forgot to ask, is 4/3/92 the only time they changed the heads. Mine was built after 4/4/92 so does this mean I can use any eclipse or talon head as long as the car was built after 4/4/92. Thanks

I guess it should be said that yes you can put ANY 4g63 head on, but if you use a head from a 95 or newer on your old style block, you will have to drill the holes for the head bolts bigger. The 1g's use 13mm head studs and the 2g uses 11mm IIRC
