Okay here's my delima my current build has a 600 hp goal, my block is bored 20 over which is roughly 86 mm. I was set on going with a fel pro perma torque head gasket but when I went to order it on extreme psi it says it only comes in a 87mm bore size. Am I missing something? If I can't get a fel pro perma torque HG. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks much

Edit since im wrong.

As far as the bore size you might want to look at another HG but the felpro may just be fine, I am not sure entirely.

That gasket will fit just fine.

All HG fire rings have a set back from the edge of the cylinder.

So your saying that the head gasket will work fine for the hp number and the bore size?

As long as the gasket surface prep for both the head and block is done properly.
Along with proper assembly.

Unless your block is O-ringed, or whatever its called to help stability of the headgasket, I wouldn't use a felpro for 600 hp. Many have used felpro's permatorque's for their high HP builds but they have other work done to the block and head to insure that the Felpro with hold's the power and pressure.

Why (if he's talking about the MLS)? Even Brent Rau ran them with 1400hp.

I understand if the block and head ate not prepped than any gasket wont hold power. My question is this the right HG for my build?

No one is going to give you a flat out yes or no.

It has the ablity to do what you are going to ask of it.

But if your tune is off , it can fail, if your cooling system fails, the gasket will fail.

I do not know how the head and block were prepped.

I do not know what torque wrench you will use, nor how accurate it is.

I do not know what your skill level is with ARP head studs, or if you know the common tips and tricks used with them.

That's an awfully broad question. There is no clear cut yes or no answer. The HG is just one piece of the puzzle. The correct answer is yes, IF your block and head are prepped along with other parameters being in line.

Thank you sir

Just another option for a headgasket because I know 99GSTracer uses Felpro gaskets but the only reason hes been using them is from O-ringing the block. I was just going off information I heard from him to just be safe. MLS as another option if your looking for a 600hp goal why not be safer?
