So i am trying to find someone to change my head gasket for me and i am having zero luck. So im getting aggrivated and have thought about doing it myself i know a lil bit about vehicles not to much. should i keep searching or do it myself and any websites that will help

Do some research on this site there are a ton of knowledgable people that have paved this road...just a note dont put a mls headgasket on with out having the block and head surfaced for one...and arp headstuds are always a good thing to do while your doing a head gasket

If you're not confident you can do it just take to a shop. Spend a bit more money and send the head to a machine shop to replace the valve seals, check the valves and wear on the guides. You don't want to do this twice in a short period of time. Make sure you understand the timing so you don't destroy the valves afterwords.

Its not difficult i have done quite a few with a extra set of paws i can have a head off a 2g in about 3 hours. I usually have a reputable machine shop plane the head clean it up and throw in new valve seals while they are at it.

iv had my first dsm for 4 months and im 21 and never did much with cars but iv been working on this one almost evertday for the 4 months to. I just did my first one everything is still apart because i ran into valve problems but its actually easy the only hard part is remembering where evrything goes and getting the bottom bolts off the intake manifold . i put all my screws in seperated zip lock bags (labled). a chilton is alot of help too saved me some trouble. The way that made it easy for me was to look at everything thats keeping the head down and take it off i would get a friend to help you lift the head out the engine bay it can be probematic LOL

but givin i was completely by myself with only self learned knowlege it took me about 8 hours non stop with some pittleing and info gathering

a head gasket job is not all that hard. just time consuming on your first go. I say go for it especially with all the helpful write ups in this thread.
