It's pretty much a dissasembly and reasembly job.

Disconnect the negative terminal on the batery, disconnect all fuel/vacuum lines and connectors going into the head/IM/EM, etc then remove the timing belt (It would be a good time to change it too if you haven't. Check out http://www.vfaq.com/mods/timingbelt-2G.html on info in replacing the timing belt), and then remove the head studs in the proper way (Screw them back in the other way around. Replace 10 with 1, 9 with 2 and so on). Also keep in mind there are other ways to screw and unscrew the head studs, this is just one of many (Sorry for the shitty drawing):

Also, it it would be recommend if you changed all the gaskets at the same time (Valve cover, spark plugs, intake and exhaust manifolds, etc) and the head studs also for some ARP head studs (Check here how to change the head studs http://www.vfaq.com/mods/headstuds.html).

After replacing everything that needs replacing, reassemble everything just the other way around you disassembled it. Always remember to mark what goes where, or which screw belongs to each part, that way you won't be lost in the rebuilding :thumb:

Hope it helps.

Just remember that if those are the stock head bolts to get new ones. The 7bolt head bolts STRETCH, If you want to do it right get yourself a 100 dollar cometic head gasket, and a 90 dollar set of ARP head studs.
