Gsx vs stock STi/EVO, what are my chances?

I suggest that if you do all that work there shouldn't even be a question of "with or without a tune".. If you don't tune you run the risk of losing all the money you spent to make your car faster. Drop 500 bones at the nearest dyno or pick up a data logger and learn to do it yourself. Plus if you dont tune you're not getting the most out of your parts. I've seen cars with less money and a great tune beat cars with more money but they run like a dog... Something to think about.

this is why ive been a member since 04 and havent posted since last week..people act like its there job if your not a moderator just get over it.. let them take care of it .. if they dont like it they can say something .. if your not .. get a life .. do something better with your time.. DONT click on the thread if you have no intensions of helping in a positive way.. hit the back button the creators of microsoft invented and get the hell out of this thread..GET A LIFE..
and the whole cluttering the forum up crap.. if you want to play mr. boss then you better go to every single post you(mr. boss) deems dumb and let everyone know how dumb they are for asking and such because YOU said so..unless your names john shepherd your not right ..
 
oh and thats on stock ecu.. no tune.. nothing .. ran 16- 17 psi on the internaly gates turbo.. and the stock fuel was fine.. who ever says different is wrong because i ddi it for 2 years

hahn racecraft super 16g
hahn bigger sidemount or small fmic
walbro 190 or 255 pump
intake
turbo back exhaust
and a nice clutch
that will beat evo's and sti's on a not to tired engine and with correct driving and no problems (boost leaks, etc)
(this was my old setup ran 12.90's) makes for a nice little quick car

I had 306 to my wheels .. its actually a legit question .. what he needed to beat a stock evo or sti.. im telling him..

No AFC at all? 12.9 and 306 whp without hitting fuel cut? At a maximum of 28 lbs/min airflow with a 9.5:1 AFR and the 2g timing map? Video or it didn't happen.

ok well i guess your right then.. i made it up to brag about .. ill tell you what .. ill hop into my time machine and take a video clip.. i have my time slip i just have to find it .. but even then that doesnt prove a dam thing .. even if i had a video it wouldnt show what i have done.. im not going to argue with you but it happened .. whether you think so or not .. i ran 3 times.. 13.6 first time ever.. 13.1 second run ever.. 12.9 3rd run .. 12.92 @ 103.9 1.79 60 foot at englishtown on dsm and turbo dodge day 05

the spelling and grammar are pretty good.. the puncuation .. not so much.. i have a bad habbit of doing this... between sentences.. oh well.. ill learn

but umm yeahhhhh....................so i think my question was pretty much answered like 6-7 posts ago but - I - am sorry that this thread took up so much forum space. even tho there are paragraphs after paragraphs written not by me but other people and those posts have almost nothing to do with my question. So was it better to write so much about me not making this thread, and making it into a two page thread or just clicking the back button and leaving it to the moderators?

im not angry with you or anything, i just find it funny. Not bein an a$$ hole, sorry if i am.

But yea, I did ask you a question relating to the topic, but since u never really replied with a specific answer to it, I guess I started posting against the peeps saying this thread is wrong, just to mess around. But yea, check page 1, my first post in this thread. That's my question.
 
It really depends on what year EVO and STI.

Since 2003 the EVO has been proven to get faster and faster every year. 2003 are by far the slowest usually put down around 230whp. 2004-2005 usually dyno around 240-245whp due to bigger turbine housing and remapped ECU. The EVOIX (2006) can easily put down 255+whp, it has a bigger turbo than the VIII and MIVEC.

The STI is the same, the 2006-2007 have been known for more whp than the 2004-2005.

I have personally seen a 2007 STI put down 242whp on a local dyno 100% stock & an EVO IX SE put down 265whp with just a drop in K&N Filter... both on the same dyno

make 260hp to the wheels and you got the evo. I can count the number of mods to get that on one hand.
 
To the Op I would say go with a 18g from forced performance, walbro 255, fpr, injectors, fmic, turboback exhaust, boost controller, maybe a clutch, and safc. You would walk on a stock evo/sti at the right boost - Say like 17 ish. My buddy walks on stock evo's all day with the same mods and a small 16g. Evo's/sti's are sic cars with a lot of potential, but its nothing a Dsm couldn't hang with or take out with a few basic bolt ons.
 
rob1621 - No matter how you flip this, it's bench racing.

If you want to know how fast your car is, take it to the track.
If you want to know who is faster/quicker, take yourself AND him to the track.


We can't tell how well your car is tuned. We aren't familiar with your ability as a driver. We haven't seen the track prep. We have no way of accurately answering a question like this. Thats why this is bench racing.

This thread is not worth salvaging anyway, so down the can it goes.
