OK well I am tackling the tranny swap from a 95-99 gsx not sure of the year , into a 95 talon tsi and noticed the 2 trannies that are supposed to be identicle have different torque converters...Well I decided to put the converter from the talon tranny into the gsx tranny and install it because it was about a 1/2" thicker than the other they are both the same circumference...Thats where I think I went wrong ....I put both converters in the tranny to see how they measured up...the gsx converter sat down in about 1/2" more than the tsi converter...
So any advise from somebody that has been through this would help alot..I did a search but noticed everybody saying they are identicle...I did install the tranny and it would not bolt all the way in. seems like I was missing about 1/2"
.....Hope i did the right thing by buying the gsx tranny.....Thanks in advance......Also noticed the front mounting bracket seems to be a little to high for the bracket to bolt up to the cross memebr brace under the car.....everything else looks good...
