I have a 1995 eclipse gsx that the clutch just started to slip/not engage. I'll start by saying it recently started after it got cold (under 40 degrees). I have had the clutch pedal sticking a little bit, just enough where i cant do fast shifts. I drove it the other day and it will slip once boost enters but not always. I got it to grab form 3k to 5k in fourth gear with full boost. It rarely grabs. But when it dosen't grab there is no clutch burning smell and it has no power will just rev as if clutch was pushed in. I dont know the mileage on clutch or what kind. Car has 118k. Right now it has the stock t25 turbo. (evo 3 16g is going on once this is fixed :D) Do i need a new clutch? Or maybe just a clutch master cylinder?

If the clutch is still the stock one, I would say its time for an upgrade. Usually, when buying a GSX used, chances are they weren't exactly "babied" , people hop in them and think they are invincible. I.e. high rpm clutch drops, gear jamming, etc.

well.

If you have a "slipping clutch" than that usually means you need a new clutch!

a bad MC may cause some sticking but also, can be the slave cyclinder or pivot bearing.

Check for leaks/fluid level is there a loss?

Start there.

What leads me to believe that it might not need a new clutch is i can still lanch the car in 3rd gear which puts a large load on the clutch, Also if clutch was worn out wouldn't it always slip why would it grab about 30 percent of the time? Also no clutch smell when slipping? Fluid level is ok.

I would probably look into the clutch upgrade right about now since u want to upgrade the turbo anyways...... but check the obvious stuff first if u have to keep it on the road for a while
