This shit is really annoying! Anyone else find it distracting and feel themselves wanting to punch Al Gore in the kidney? All these green webpages and stupid green logos and facts on the TV. I think I'm gonna go burn a pile of tires.

:beatentodeath:

I've been passing gas as much as I can.

It's about all I can do, as my transmission is out for clutch replacement ROFL

Oh, I've pretty much wanted to punch any politician in the kidney.

Like anything, it's a trend. I don't think it's a bad trend - cutting down on waste we produce can't be bad. You gotta admit we do a lot of damage.

But I do get tired of all of the trendiness of it all. I saw something on TV the other night about how stars are wearing "recycled" clothes... yeah okay. Their publicists must have turned them on to it. Whatever.

Ah, Chris, I don't have a problem about being conscious.

It's just a matter of it being shoved down my throat constantly, as you said.

QFT! Until this trend passes... I will make sure to drive my Cadillac on every Earth day!

Al Gore needs to burn in hell

As a species we are complete idiots. Yes we are having an impact on the enviroment, But to think we have the power to destroy the planet with our day to day routine is ridiculous. The polar ice caps are melting and? science has proven that has happend many times over the history of the earth. Its a natural cycle the world goes through of heating up and cooling down. We have only had intelligent insight on ourselves for what a few thousands years? Assholes like Al Gore think we can speak on how the world works when we have never been around to experience all of its cycles and probably never will. There was a project, if i can find it i would post it, that did the math and assuming we dont kill everyone in a nuclear war. The human species will only live at most another 20,000 years. anyway thats my .2 and probably more than most people want to hear.

Well, with our rate of overpopulation, it will more than likely be sooner.

We are constantly at work to eradicate nature's population control.

I, too, am tired of this Liberal media bullshit. But, like Luda said, we do need to cut down on some of our habits. But to say the earth is melting because of us is crazy.

It's all just business, kids. And political payoffs. It's time to pitch some tea into Boston Harbor again.

I have already sharpened the nail in my board, I am ready for the revolution. When its over hopefully we wont be speaking Spanish and using the Amero as currency!

I know the site rules say no religion and no politics.... But, but, but the political idea of climate changes has become the church of Global Warming and my Talon now needs $50.00 for a fill up.

The pols rant about the high price of oil while voting against drilling in Alaska or off Florida.

The pols rand about the high price of food while voting for tax grants for using corn to make fuel.

Algore thinks the answer is to transfer wealth from rich countries to poor countres (and him of course)

I vote Balance Shaft for the church of Global Warming.

Thank you! I got into an argument at the gym just yesterday with some asshat liberal.
When you come with facts they come back with "well because", or well "bush effed it all up" "what do I car about abortion"..." ohh my income taxes wont go up at all" " were losing in Iraq and spending uber bucks everyday there and everyday we lose 4000000 soldiers"

Being democrat among the younger people (I’m 22) is trendy and bullshit. They have no base on their beliefs and the ones that do are even more scary

Today I cut down a 15' wide, 250' long swath through some woods...then I peed on it.

Then I drove 95mph for about 2 hours in my suburban and wasted atleast a tank of feul.

I am now much happier.

The trendiness is anoying even though I am a "liberal asshat" from Colorado ;) Cutting down on waste just makes sense economically and for lots of other reasons too.

What gets me is how people can live in a culture driven by science and accept its conclusions on a daily basis, yet they choose to disagree with all the scientists when the scientists discover something unpalatable. Yes, science has been wrong and will be wrong again but on something as big and serious as screwing up our ecosystems goes why take the risk when almost every scientist right now is screaming there is a problem? Aren't we better of being cautious?

It was the UN delegates that made up global warming...everyone else just jumped on for the ride.

Edit: I wasnt refering to all democrats as "asshats" just this guy at my gym...if there wernt one word said about politics, I would still refer to him as an asshat. Im sorry it come out that way.

Almost every scientist is screaming it? no most liberal tree hugging scientist yes...but i watch discovery channel and history channel on a daily basis...i watch cnn 8 hrs a day...there are just as many scientist saying its a load of $#!T and that this is a natural cycle that the earth goes through...and even if we are doing something at the current rate it would be hundreds of thousands of years before it is fatal to the planet and almost every scientist (tree hugger or not) will tell you we wont be around that long...we are much to frail of a species...like i stated above...the math has been done and assuming we dont nuke each other to hell first we only have max 20k more years...its egotistical (sp) to think that we can have that much impact on a planet...Al Gore is brain washing people and bitching about carbon foot prints while he flys all over the world in a private jet...give me a damn break...show me one of these bastards that are preaching this to you that actually follow it? When hurricane camille hit down here 25 years ago did we have global warming...how about in the ice age? the scientist you speak of say we could shut down the jet stream and have another ice age...were the ice ages from before our fault too...look at all the dinosaurs that are extinct from extreme CLIMATE change...are we gonna blame that on them driving around in their suburbans?LOL Do alil reasearch and look back into earths history and tell me how many times the climate has gone thru changes and cycles and we didnt have shit to do with it....just a few hundred years ago during the dark ages in europe...it started because of a temp drop of almost 8 degrees that lasted almost a hundred years killing crops and producing food shortages world wide...was it becuase they werent driving a prius? sorry this is just a subject that gets under my skin quick bottom line dont go directly polluting the earth by dumping oil in the oceans( god knows we need it for our damn gas!) but give me a break on the save the earth we are ruining it crap..

Wow Ive never seen such ignorance on one forum... "I wont be alive so who cares" You sir are the biggest douche bag on here.

You guys are probably a little uninformed on all this, but heres the thing. CO2 levels are low anyways and h2o is the main cause in heating an warming. Depending on where you are h2o levels are .1-4%, and co2 are only .032-.037%. What you didnt know is that co2 levels have increased 27% in the last 30 years. Somone show me in earths history where its been that much in such a short time. No its not going to be the main cause of rising temps are even the top cause, but its not helping.

With that said, I dont really pay attention to all that, and I wont get a electric car and some shit like that, but you cant say it doesnt matter. Really who cares if poor you has to set through a 30sec commercial. I hipe it doesnt kill you.

Matt - no sweat, I poke fun at ignorant republicans all the time ;) (My wife and her family are repubs as well as many friends so I don't really mean it.)

neeland - I wasn't really posting directly about climate change, though that is an issue. Look back at some other big issues we've dealt with like pesticides and herbicides that were quite literally poisoning the earth and are still causing repercussions. Science got it wrong and then worked to fix it. Some scientists rebelled and said it wasn't an issue as did a lot of the public. It took time to get things figured out and we learned from it. Climate change might be something like that.

I think our big concern should be sustainability, which climate change may play a role in. Our ancestors figured out centuries ago that you have to live in balance with your surroundings and give back some of what you take or you ruin what you have. In our orgy of fossil-fueled industrialization we've largely forgotten those lessons and, as the last 5000 years of recorded history has shown time and again, not living sustainably will come back and bite us in the ass.
