1. Take several days off, have money for rental car. Buy beer and talk someone who knowings about 4g63's to come over and help.

2. Remove crank shaft damper (special tool)
3. Remove engine mount.
4. Remove front half of timing belt cover.
5. Align timing marks, loosin timing belt tensioner pulley, remove pulley, tensioner, tesioner arm bracket, idler pulley.
6. After removing tensioner it must be compressed and a retainer put in to kep it that way.
7. Hold camshaft sproket with special tool to remove bolt, remove bolt and sprocket.
8. remove rear timing belt cover.
9. Remove camshaft seal.
10. Remove valve cover
11. Remove bearing caps, note that they are maked and have to go back IN THE SAME LOCATION.
12. Cam caps must be removed from the inside out :

IMOPTANT NOTE CAMS ARE NOT INTERCHANGABLE!

13. mark hydrolic lash adjusters must also go back the same, partially full of oil.
14. Piston cannot be at top dead center when installing camshafts.
15. Lubricate everything.
16. install cams, install right and left cam caps 2-5 and right #6 tighten to 12 ftlbs.
17. install #1 and 6 bearing caps and tighten to 21ftlbs. Use locktight on all bolts.
18.Bearing end caps must be installed before seals.
19. Install rear timing belt cover, and support bracket
20. Install camshaft sprockets and tighten to 73 ftlbs.
21. Install idler pulley, tensioner arm bracket, timing belt tensioner, tensioner pulley.
22. Set Crankshaft sprocket to TDC.
23. Set camshaft timing marks together.
24. Move cranckshaft to 1/2 notch before TDC.
25. Install timing belt.
26. Move crankshaft sprocket to TDC to take up belt slack.
27. Install tensioner but leave slack.
28. Using torque wrech apply 20 ftlbs. of pressure, with ressure on belt tighten pulley bolts to 22 ftlbs. PULL OUT TESIONER PLUG PIN.
29. Rotate crank twice and check alignment marks.
30. Install timing belt cover, remove inspection cover and bring #1 piston to TDC and check marks agian. If off redo.
31. install motor mount and crank dampner.
32. Go out and buy service manual or get it on CD-ROM.
