Do not buy that e-bay junk crap because it's made in China, the VRSF is the best one on the market for DSM's. The VRSF is custom made for DSM's and you will not have to do allot of modifications for it to fit properly. VRSF has been around longer than any other aftermarket providers for FMIC kits. If you get any other kit be ready to do some major modifications for it to fit properly. There are FAQ on the VRSF kits and have seen numerous install post about them which will help you as your doing the installation. Everyone has their opinions and they are just that.

People have been running ebay intercoolers with much success a long time. I personally WILL not but an expensive intercooler ever again. The ssautochrome short route is pretty much identical to the vrsf, and they fit very well just like the vrsf.

The SSAC (eBay VRSF-type) intercooler kits have been PROVEN time and time again. Not buying something because it is made in China is the worst excuse I have ever heard.

OP: Here are some threads to help you out. Yes there are fitment issues with the kit in your link.

I'm not taking anything away from VRSF, but without PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I do believe peoples comments on the eBay FMIC kits are moot.

100 percent of these people that complain about them haven't run them. There is a ton of hearsay in this department.

Your going to find a lot of opinons here, lots of information on fmics though, gonna have to make a decision one day, also depends on your wallet.

My only complaint about my VRSF is that it swallowed my T25 LOL

i want the ssac but theyre out of stock too!!! damn, first stm calls and tells me they have a backorder on the e3 16g, then vrsf is 8 weeks. what else??? going with the PR fmic, fuc it. alot of people recommend it so its probably good. just wish i hadnt ordered my jpipe already LOL. maybe i can return it. thanks for the feedback

I can't speak for the 2g fitment, but I'm NOT a fan of Punishment Racing's customer service, and lack of concern about ongoing fitment issues with their 1g kit. If I were you, 8 weeks isn't too long to wait for a good fmic. MUCH better than that SSAC intercooler.

so i ordered the vrsf kit. a week later they notify me its backordered 8 weeks. what are some other options? ive already ordered the j pipe and oil return line. looking at some ebay ones now

What makes you think the VRSF one isn't made in China or another Asian country?

ROFL

But I recommend the VRSF FMIC but since you don't want to wait, go with the PR FMIC. & you're able to keep your foglights too :thumb:

Look at it this way, a FMIC is just cooling air so as long as the welds can hold boost you will be fine.

Many of the ebay ones have been proven to work but I personally have never looked into them BUT the ones I have looked into are the VRSF and Punishment Racing FMIC, Many like the PR Fmic just due to the fact that they hold up well with power and still keep the stock fog lights if that matters.

yea i really like the idea of keeping the stock fog lights. it was 397 after everything. im gonna have a really nice setup after the machinist fixes his f up. 272 cams with a 68hta turbo. whattya think? 400whp on pump gas? possible? im jackin my own thread LOL.
that fp 68 sits the same as a 16g or 14b correct? cause when i ordered my PR fmic and specified 14b/16g connection. other choice was t25 or downfacing turbo. the downfacing one i thought they meant like a holsett or something. and the 68 looks to have the same jpipe attachment as the 16g

My precision intercooler only has a temp change of around 15* at the end of a run. Before I was using a eBay core and I was seeing 40* of temp and knock. I always recommend the best core you can get. Just my $.02

I ordered one of the these the first of the month, and just got the same dreaded email, i got the j-pipe in last week, which apparently they have a ton of in stock, but i too will be waiting 6-8 for it. I thought at first ill take the refund and order the pr one, but i feel this kit is the one for me after tons of research and reading, which led me to this post actually, i decided ill wait for it, he also offered me a bit of a cash refund, it wasnt much, but then again how much profit are they actually making on these. Choose wisely and im sure you'll be fine.

i ordered the etd fmic for 300 bucks shipped and i got it yesterday and im very impressed with the quailty of the intercooler...its 36" long by 12" tall by 4" thick. I highly recommed this intercooler. Its cheap and fast shipping

This is a pic of it install....its super huge it barly fit and i mean barly but it looks great and even better in person....just my 2 cents
