so i ordered the vrsf kit. a week later they notify me its backordered 8 weeks. what are some other options? ive already ordered the j pipe and oil return line. looking at some ebay ones now

i ordered the etd fmic for 300 bucks shipped and i got it yesterday and im very impressed with the quailty of the intercooler...its 36" long by 12" tall by 4" thick. I highly recommed this intercooler. Its cheap and fast shipping

Only downside to the PR FMIC in my opinion. I literally spent 2 months debating between VRSF and PR for their FMIC. I love VRSF for the size and the fact that its a short intercooler, it saves a lot more space in the long run. But I still like the look of the car especially with the fog lights, Yes its my one ricer trait, thats why I felt for my set up a PR FMIC would be best. But if your looking for high HP ratings I would recommend the VRSF, short route means less boost lag even if its not by a lot.

Also the VRSF has less connections so less places for boost leaks to happen. Just another thing to keep in mind.

Anybody ever wounded how the VRSF or PR intercooler fins look like. I doubt they will look any better then eBay intercoolers. Don't expect too much from these intercooler. A good dense intercooler fins cost more then half of these intercooler prices.

i bought one of the ebay intercoolers and i put down over 1000 whp on my mustang so i bought the same intercooler for my talon that will put down 750+ to the wheels so i just trust the intercooler that has been proven to me personaly

I personaly went with ETS no wait time and they have plenty of set ups depending on your wallet. From experiemce the short route gos in and fits great , never had a problem with anything besides getting the innercooler to line up straight but im a werido when it comes to that. Never had any couplers blow off or boost leak problems either worth the money.

You could also get a same side inlet/outlet intercooler. My friend loves his, cools very well and he could keep his fog lights. His is a Hahn Racecraft FMIC.

I had the Ebay/ssac/vrsf style FMIC on my 2g and loved it. Since I got it off ebay it had they typical issues i.e. missing coupler and the inlet was too long, but that was nothing that a $12 trip to napa, one cut, and one weld acting as a bead didn't solve. I personally like this style better than the punishment racing/CX racing kit due to the pipe routing and that the inlet and outlet are offset.

This kit should be good for your setup. I never saw more than a 5* increase during a pull on my 14b at 23psi. Now if you plan on something a bit bigger, I might look else where for something with better fin density/cooling capacity.

Your going to find a lot of opinons here, lots of information on fmics though, gonna have to make a decision one day, also depends on your wallet.

Finally someone gets the point of my post, glad to see someone with some common sense can prevail. Very well said.

The PR kit is an eBay kit....renamed.
It's actually made by CX Racing...which makes 'compa' parts.
I just installed the VRSF yesterday...and whoever mentioned this kit having the "less" modifications of any other kit...is obviously a noob and has never installed one.
I had to cut through the ####en frame of the car to get this bad boy bolted on, my passenger headlight is hanging on with dear life with only 2 bolts. And the core requires probably twice as much trimming of the bumper than any other kit around.

But...I love it

yeah i had to cut my bumper paper thin all over and it still barely fit...but i love the look
