FMIC any good?

You're gonna go straight from a 14b to a 50 trim w/ FMIC?????
Please tell me you're joking.

I'm doing everything at once, filter, intake, turbo, turbo back exhaust, type s bov, fmic, fully tuned engine, 650 FIC, spark plugs and wires, act 2600.

Let me help you add to that list....
255 lph fuel pump
AFPR
DSMLink OR Wideband + EGT + Logger + SAFC2
Exhaust manifold
O2 housing
External wastegate
(I'm at about 1600 dollars right now...)
You'll most likely want to run a GM MAF / MAFT add about 300 more...
You'll need tires most likely... + 400 more

Your transmission won't hold up under the 50 trim power for long, so probably look at replacing the trans in less than 2 years. About 1500 more.

I hope you're up to date on the maintenance....
water pump
oil pump
headgasket
timing belt
etc...

All I'm trying to say is it's not as easy as it seems.
There's alot of time/tuning/and money involved.

Follow the upgrade path on this site.

Yeah, don't go all out all at once. When you get your car back together after X months of building it, you won't know how to drive it, it won't get broken in properly, and you'll break it all over again. I've seen this happen. A friend had to have the biggest of everything, and then keeps breaking his car just about every time he races it.

OMG those prices are insane for front mounts.

do what i did. buy a fmic core off ebay(200-250) and make your own piping(150), then laugh at people who spend 800 on the same thing, just so they can get a name.

and im with above, when you put alot of things on at once, theres a chance one will mess up, and finding 1 mess up in 15 upgrades isnt going to be fun, but best of luck. you can put the 50 trim on and run low boost till the fuel system is in and tuned, etc.

alright, sounds good guys, thanks for the tips. I'm definetly re-thinking all this and just going to go step by step, work the engine in with every mod.

I did my entire install of everything. ex, fuel sys, turbo, fmic, in a weekend, and it was killer. The car ran like shit when it was done. So its def. better to do it in steps, but it can be done, just be ready to tune your ass off and the first thing to do is a boost leak test.

"first learn to crawl before you start runing" :)

there's a nice article on this site about tuning the car, and it also makes a lot of sense
it's not just in the parts that u put in the car, it's the tuning that you do...

but what do i kno :)

How do you fully tune an engine without putting everything in first, or without something to tune your engine with?
