Going To Be Runing 20 PSI.. Which Head Gasket?

hey guys I have came accross a 95 gsx with 660's and a afc.... It has no compression on 2 cylinders(1,2). Im not really worried about not having compression, I have used a MLS head gasket before and did not work.. tourqued the head that time to 80 lbs.

Im going to be using APR head bolts for this project, will a graphite hg work good enough to hold the psi im shooting for???

what do you guys recomend?
 
I ran a Mitsu MLS on my last talon when I did the motor and loved it! The OEM composite is also very good and would be what I would recommend for your goals. I also used a regular felpro on a stock 2g awhile back that never went above 15psi and never had an issue but never pushed it.
 
The 9627pt are not a multi layer steel hg, they are a mesh of metal bits crammed into a metal frame.

I repeat the NEW felpro permadry plus HG's are MLS but they are not intended for racing or performance applications like the 1153-1. These are the same as the ones that are on the 420a's which come with a black interior and metal lip. I just got done putting a permadry plus HG on my 420a before I sold it and it WAS MLS. I sell these things everyday. Carver doesn't like that far from my work he can come to where I am and see one if he likes along with anyone else.
 
I'm not gonna take it out the wrapping till it's going on but here is my HG that I will be using. :)

I sell these too everyday, for a living also. Let me go get a picture of the one on my wall: "All state Staless stell armor w/o wire ring. Perforated core graphite." It wouldn't make sense to have a regular 30 dollar HG be a MLS.

Three Fel-Pro 1153 or 9627pt, whatever you want to call them. I guess, I or you aren't understanding the meaning of a MLS head gasket.

I just got into the work there are three diffrent ones I think that's where we're getting mixed up. I have a cheaper one that comes by it'self and the new one they have in the improved Head set thus the HS before the number is a cometice MLS just like the one I linked you a picture to that CI sells which I installed on my 420a about 3 months ago and then there is the one I own. I was not aware that there were three as I have always used the HS kits and did everything at once no point only getting a hg might as well do them all.
 
They are nice, but blow out past 35psi.

Like I said, the MLS gasket is better.

Yeah I have heard that the gas o-ring does not like heat:hmm:! Well I guess if you can build it with heat you certainly can destroy it with heat! High egt that is!
 
Old post, I know but I ran my old 420a to 20psi on a 60mm turbo with 20* timing and held strong for 2 yrs. with a felpro mls til I got rid of the car. Anyway, I just squeezed coolant from my gsx through a mls with arp's and was wondering if i would have better luck with an oem since i'm only running the e3 to 25-28psi with supporting mods. Think it will hold?
