I admit I avoid this thread because I honestly believed it would have a Cinderella ending but life is not always a fairy tale and it always moves on. My car needs a paint job a little but I refuse to do so because I have already put on my Wendy decals on the car. I would rather not look perfect and help people remember than take them off. I didn't help donate to be honest for the car I could care less if the car ran I did it to help Wendy see we were always pulling for her. Any hope I have of seeing the car run is very much foreshadowed by my regret.

I've got a few decals left if anyone needs one, just PM me your address and which size you want. I know that Brad has been trying hard to get his life back together and the car is always in the back of his mind. It's a very bittersweet thing to look at it, let alone drive it, but I guarantee that he is still dedicated to making it out to the track when he is ready. In the meantime, maybe some of you would like to follow along on my new build. I decided to honor Wendy's memory by building a 1G FWD in her style. Light, simple, small turbo setup. Here's a link to the build thread.

And I'm still updating the site I put up with her pics, so if anyone has more pics with the stickers on your car, feel free to post them up so I can ad them.

Obviously you didn't read all of the thread, but Wendy did not make it.. But she is in a better place now, and Brad is doing a lot better now.

Steve93Talon, I PM'ed you and you never PM'ed me back with a price..

I haven't been able to bring myself to unsticky this thread. I've sent Brad a PM and email checking in on him, but have received no reply. I'm not sure he's checking in much these days. Thanks again to all who contributed, in any way. I think it's time to unsticky it now.

Brad is in contact on our local board. The GVR4 is in part-out, their son's 1g is up for sale, and through all of this, he's been hanging in there.

"Wendy's Wings", the car that we built in memory of my very special friend will take flight at the Pan American Nationals @ Atco Raceway next weekend July 16th. All with the help of my dream team crew of Shawn Brown, Russ McGlaughlin, and Jeff Bush.

Just read all 19 pages, I posted my thoughts to the newer thread after Brad had run the car. Wendy will forever live on in the DSM community. I just lost my Aunt this past summer to Liver Cancer. Im very sorry for your loss, and I feel she lives on through all of us.

Next month will be a year that she hasn't been with us. I didnt even know her, but I can tell you that after this thread, I will never forget her. Shes a trooper and I hope her car gets down to where she wanted it to be. Underhood pictures, and video are priceless. Im at work now, and the .me gallery is blocked, but I will be sure to check out Steves gallery when I get home.

Regards,
Gregg

Anyone know if he ever got the car down the track? I'd to see all the work that went into this car and all the contributions made and then see it get sold. Whatever the case though, hope all is well.

It's been just over two years since we lost Wendy Pate. I was talking to a friend of mine today and she popped into my head. I told him about this thread and about how wonderfully inspirational and yet, horribly tragic, this experience was.

I hope Brad and family are doing well these days. I wish them the best. Next time anyone sees them tell them Chris from DSMtuners says hello.

It still gives me a chill to see her name on forum friends lists, and FB.

Brad moved, IIRC, and is doing well.

I know this is a little bit of an older post but, I would like to see if the car ran 10's? is there another thread showing it? sad story to say the least. I just read this, took me like 2 hours. it's amazing how much people have come together on this.
