Gauge clusuter grinding noise?

Hey guys. Just the other day my speedometer went crazy and made a grinding sound. After 20mph it would jump up to 100 and then back down to normal. Today i i took the cluster out and made sure there was graphite greese on it. It still does it but now its a buzzing noise rather than a grinding noise. Is my speedo in my cluster broke or would the cable be possibly binding up? It has never done this untill recently when i got below 20 degrees. The first time it did it was a -10 degree morning.

I would bet on the speedo cable going bad. The same sort of thing happened to me years ago when I had a 1990 Integra. Noises all went away after I replaced the cable.

Yep, its the cable. Pulled it out and no more noise. Looks like a new speedo cable.
