I was at the local cars and coffee and saw something I had not seen before. Gates powergrip hose clamps. I have no idea if this is recent. It was a heat shrink hose clamp. This guy used it on the radiator hose. I see no advantage other than it looked pretty nice. It isnt reusable but how often does one undo certain hoses anyway?
Anybody seen this? Comments?

This post thread is double btw, its listing it twice for some reason in the same area by the looks of it.

As for the clamp/sleeve i seen this a while ago and it does look good and clean but i always wonderdd about heat vs time, does it get loose. Or perhaps it has a lifespan?

Its like wire heatshrink or its closest to it in terms of form, for a show car build its nice but for anything else i think its not really needed or trusted like racing or such

That's honestly all I use. Mostly for the clean look. It's very effective has never come loose. It's also used in a few cars on an oem level. It is a pain if you ever have to remove one, but they do make a special tool for removal.

Gates #32941is the size for our cars. They are also very cheap. I only use 3 so I can still remove the rad. The two on top and lower outlet, water pipe gets a clamp. For removal I just unbolt the thermostat housing.
