FYI on finding Throttle Body Seals

I just thought Id help anybody out that was in need of throttle body seals. Apparently, Napa does have them, they just don't know it.

I do a lot of business with them, so they are usually willing to help me out. I called and gave them the Chicago Rawhide / SKF Seal number 3930. They ran the number and came up with nothing. Apparently that is because that part number is not programmed into their system. They entered the number and checked again and low and behold, there they were!

They had over 200 of them in stock! The down side however is that they are all in the Kentucky warehouse. So I did have to wait a few days, but they were only $5.20 list each, and with my discount just over $4.

So, for those of you that would rather source your parts yourself, there ya go!

Is this for both 1g and 2g tb's how about n/t?

From what I have read, these seals work for both the 1g and 2g turbo throtttle body.

The 1g NT uses one of these on one side, and a slightly larger one on the other. I have not checked availability of this seal, but using the same methods we did, I am sure you could find out. I know the part number is available on VFAQ under intake / TB seal replacement.

Sorry I cant be more help than that. This is my first go around doing this particular repair.

Sorry I'm a bit confused. What was different between the first search and the second search that netted results? What do I tell them if after the first search they tell me they have nothing?

When they searched the first time, the local napa did not have that part number in their system, so from what i understand, the computer simply says its a bad part number. At this point, they usually assume that they just can't get it. But, when he added it to their local system with simply the part type of seal ans the part number, it allowed him to search the national one. That is how they found it.

Im not a napa guy, but that is how they explained it to me.

I can one up NAPA. They could only get the larger CSK seal for me. And it was like pulling teeth for them. I rebuilt a few throttle bodies recently. One with a set of seals from MACH V, and three with another companies set.

I ended up going to a local bearing and seal company. I was able to get the 91+ seals for $6.40 and the 90 seals for $11.32. The company local to me was called Whisler Bearing.

Search by Item Number as Manufacturer Part Number comes up with nothing.

On the search result it says the seals are available, but on the order page after I add them to my order, they come up as Back Ordered.

I used Motion Industries myself, I've rebuilt 3-4 TB all of them 90's.
