i have heard of people swapping the 1g throttle body for the stock 2g one because its bigger....now im wondering what do i need to do that? like just the throttle body or is there any sensors or anything i might need...and is it plug and play or any modifications needed??? please help me out thanks

The important part is to search before you ask. Anywaz, what matters most is the IAC on the TB. Certain ones can't be used. Besides that, gasket.

It would be a good idea to replace the shaft seals and the BISS screw o-ring before the install. They are most likely old and worn out and will leak under boost.

There is a tech article on the seal install, it shows how to replace the seals on a 90 Throttle body, but the 91-94 install is basically the same.

all dsm iacs are the same.

when doing a swap to a 2g you must retain your 2g tps. when swapping it over you must set it properly so you get the right idle. this can sometimes be tricky but rre has a good write up.

you will also want to gasket match the intake manifold. just swapping the tb alone wont net you much of a difference unless the intake mani is opened up also.

Yes, the 2g intake manifold inlet needs to be ported to match that of a 1g TB. And the TPS needs to be moved from your 2g TB to the 1g.

Yea, you're right. All the US ones are the same.

Uh... not he's not right, and no they are not all the same.

90 is different than 91/99

On a related note, can a 90 use a 91+TB? My 90 has dead sensors and I have access to a 92-TB and the wires to hook it into my 90 harness.

Tried a search, got zip.

Yes, TPS uses the same color codes so you can splice in the 91/94 TPS harness.

ISC requires swapping two wires in the harness but is otherwise bolt on compatible.
