Fuel Cooler

I remember Sport Compact Car doing a article on cooler fuel. It didn't do anything. I don't think it would be a bad thing. We do have a returnless fuel system, so I don't know why our fuel would get real hot. I'm getting a oil cooler soon. Can't ever have it too cool, so if you got money comming out your @$$, send me some and get your cooler ;)

They're ....uh.... gonna want that back, y'know. And more. Unless you were wearing a ski cap when you asked.

Don't bother trying to cool the fuel. Go through the Tuning Guide as linked on the top of this page, and keep with earth-bound methods. They work, and are proven.

I know the feeling about spending huge bucks. I'm rebuilding my engine right now. I just forked out 3k for my turbo kit, now I need 2k for my internals, and about 2k more for boost control, S-AFC2, fuel system, ect. Its adding up really quick. Defiant, thanks for the idea. I might try the ski mask thing...

For the 2g yea. The 1g N/T "tuning guide" is a disgrace. Three of the FOUR mods are pertaining to an exahust system. It basically says "your screwed, we dont know anything else to list, so go buy an AWD turbo and come back later".

There are tons of things you can do to a 1G N/T, but no one has thus far taken the time to ask one of us for input to update it. The "turbo guys" are not the only ones that get repetitive upgrade questions ya know! :(

I'm not trying to bash, but I just think this is a valid issue that should be addressed. :thumb:

A good point about the NT tuning guide.

However, unlike the turbo DSMs, normally-aspirated engine tuning has only a few paths of exploitation: cam profiles/timing, breathing improvements, and revs. After that you're into nitrous, alternate fuels, or an abandonment of being normally aspirated.

If you'd like to start harvesting the web, there's already hundreds of thousands of sites for engine improvements, and I'm sure Chris would allow you all the space you need to amalgamate those applicable to the N/T DSMs.
